Following the Yamaha FZ6 Service Manual the disassembly of the front forks isn't exactly rocket science...
But of course I run into the issue where I am missing a tool => Damper rod holder / 90890-01294
I can't seem to find a picture of this (best case also some measurements so I could make one...
Was in the middle of disassembly to check the valve clearance, when I had the horrific discovery of the coolant looking very brown. First I thought it was oil, but then again I didn't notice any sign of coolant in that?
Found lots and lots of small bits of what could be rust in the coolant so...
1st helmet => Schuberth S1 Pro with external Interphone coms.
2nd helmet => A now 8-9 year old Schuberth S2 with Schuberth SRC coms collar. Just sold the SRC collar and the S2 will be kept as a great gocart helmet or whatever.
Was never a fan of the SRC system. Often had issues with...
Been a long time since I looked and posted here - sorry about that :)
2 days ago when I started the bike to go to work the following occurred:
Turned the key and immediately dash showed that temperature was maximum and it said "53" where the mileage is usually shown. The red light immobilizer...
Wanted to adjust the chain a tiny bit and I noticed something terrible.
When in NEUTRAL (engine off) and just turning the rearwheel by hand there is a significant click click click sound. At first I thought it was the read wheel bearings but the click's seems to originate from the front...
I know I am not the only one who suffers a bit with the windscreen being just about too high or too low. There are lots of older threads but maybe there is some spanking fresh news regarding this subject?
I am 183cm (or about 6ft) and at highway speed the windpressure (from over the windscreen)...
Hi!
I don't have Facebook but I still sometimes use Facebook's messenger app (it's possible without being on Facebook).
Have accidently added a person and seems like that person accepted. I just wanted to remove the person completely again so I just blocked them via the menu - no...
When I pickup my bike for the 2019 season kick off with a few larger repairs:
Last year when I installed fresh clutch plates, not because anything was wrong but because I got them cheap and had nearly 80.000km on the clock I noticed quite a lot of slack in the little chain behind/below the...
Looking for a cover that suite my needs and fits the bike quite well.
Needs to be quite resistant against rain and would be cool of it could take some heat so I could fit it just after I park the bike at home.
Does not have to be flashy as it is primarily for parking up next to the house...
New clutch - Not enough spring-action... SOLVED!
Installed a new clutch (a set with compression springs, friction plates and clutch plates).
The whole operation was quite easy except refitting the clutch cover onto the pull rod. I followed the steps of the "2004 Service Manual" (around page...
Have decided to buy a Healtech Gipro-X gear indicator...
I just can't seem to figure out which of the 5 available colors that would suit my FZ6 best => Help/Vote!?
My FZ6 is the non-faceliftet model with bluish ligthing.
As far as I have read there the brigtness of the Gipro-X display is...
Want to replace the front fork oil around March or April 2018...
Of some strange reason I have never done this before (just let a local shop do it).
In the FZ6 service manual I can't seem to find the part where they explain how to drain the front fork oil without disassembling the whole...
The roof upholstery of my old car sagged down everywhere a few years ago due to excessive heat. Was on holiday and the car was parked back home in the sun with doors shut for about 3 weeks... The old glue from 1991 couldn't take the heat :(
Bought some new leather look-a-like fabric in a...
Getting a new set of tires next week...
Bike has run 61.000 km so maybe I should change the wheelbearings while the tires are off - even if they seem fine?
Yamaha dealership price here in Denmark is sky high - 100 USD for a set of frontwheel bearings and a whopping 180 USD for the...
Next weekend me and 8-9 other bikers are going on a 700km one day trip from Copenhagen and back.
We will land in Puttgarden (by ferry) at around 9 AM and probably going west through Northern Germany before riding up through to South West Denmark and back east to Copenhagen.
We've done...
Just got a brand new Pilot Road 4 front wheel - can't wait to ride again!
Now in the middle of reinstalling front wheel between front forks...
Everything seems simple enough. I have fitted everything except "front wheel axle pinch bolt" (look at page 4-1 in the 2004 service manual).
I am...
Earlier this week there was a major fire at a Danish car and motorcycle dealer.
They stored about 140 bikes for costumers during the winther...
I hope everyone (the shop included) has got some serious insurance!
With so many bikes there were without doubt several custom bikes...
Right now I...
I always thought that the rear swingarms were different from the silver (2004-06) to black versions (2006-...) - Both in look and especially how the chain is adjusted.
I saw a Danish add with a wrecked FZ6 from 2009 (black edition). Rear svingarm should be fine and I thought about buying it (of...
I think I'll take a look at FinalImpact's "Spark Plug Caps" fix some day soon (before new bike season) => Found here http://www.600riders.com/forum/fz6-technical/48874-vibration-cure-bad-vibrations-spark-plug-caps.html
Before that I'd really want to Adjust the Valve Clearence + Throttle Body...
Passenger handles - are they the same for older FZ6 (04-06) and newer FZ6 07-xx).
Reason for question is that I found this 2nd hand topbox and rack. Seller claims it is an original Yamaha Topbox (44 litres) even though I have never seen it before? His bike was a 2007- and he is unsure if it...
