Hi all. For those that have done a HID conversion for the low beam I was wondering what you used as a spacer for holding the new bulb in place?
Thanks
Danny
No, I am not looking at getting rid of the FZ6 but when I got my FZ6 dyno tuned a few days ago, +3.3hp and an extra 4mpg. The guy who ran the dyno does it as a side business and works at a Harley shop. While talking the opportunity came up to test drive the Buell the next day. Wow, what a bike...
I wanted to do the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Tail of the Dragon. I ordered a set of Mad Maps and connected a bunch of the routes for the way down and then doing BRP on the way back north. From Amherst, Nova Scotia and back to Amherst I plan to be on the road for 12 days which means I have to do...
Here are some pics of my preparations for my upcoming trip in June. So if anyone sees a rider looking like they got too close to radiation, give a wave cause it is probably me:)
I just installed iridiums on mine and left the gap alone. I read somewhere that you are not supposed to adjust the gap on iridium plugs because you can damage the electrode. There is another post here talking about iridium plugs you may find it doing a search that will answer your question better.
At the end of last year I had my tank completely full and then lifted it to remove the battery. There was more than a couple drops came out of the breather hoses and since I was in a garage with a wood stove going and people smoking the puddle of gas was not cool.
I am going to be down that way from June 12-16 so looks like I am a couple weeks after your going. Thanks bmccrary for that list. My plan is to do roads beside the Blue Ridge while going south so that I hit the tail of the dragon on a weekday and then Blue Ridge all the way back north.
I used this method today but it took a bit longer then 20 minutes. I also took out the top and bottom radiator bolts and unhooked the plastic connector holding the rad house by the coolant reservoir (07+) to get a bit more room.
I ordered a set of these, Graves Motorsports - Graves Motorsports Smog Block Off Plates Yamaha R1 (04-09) R6 (03-09) R6S (06-09) FZ1 (All) Kawasaki ZX6RR (03-08) ZX10R, ZX14R (ALL). They don't specify that they fit a FZ6 however an '04 R6 and FZ6 have identical part numbers for the cap. I'll let...
Do you just have the top case mount or side cases as well? I may be able to find my instructions from last year and scan them, but I may have tossed them.
This is what I like about this forum so much. With my first post yesterday morning I knew pretty much nothing about this part of the bike. It seems to get a bit more discussion on FZ1 and R1/R6 forums. 24 hours later I've spent 4 hours or so researching and discussing here and now I know a lot...
This is turning into quite a topic:sinister: With a stock bike I don't think anyone would remove the AIS, as it is designed to work with the full exhaust from the factory. However with an aftermarket exhaust with a cat elim pipe things are changed slightly. I read the service manual and the...
