So these guys over at GaugeFace came up with a cable that sends information from a Harley's diagnostic port and displays it on an Ipod/Iphone. Its an interesting idea, but too bad they haven't made one for any other manufacturer *cough* Yamaha *cough*.
The installation looks pretty easy...
The straps at the top are hooked in through the bracket holding the fuel tank to the frame. Then the bottom straps are looped through a gap in the frame that's underneath the front seat.
I never had a magnetic tank bag to compare it to so someone else will have to chime in on this one. As...
While switching the OEM brake lines over to stainless steel ones, the master cylinder is mounted high enough where I cant get a torque wrench in there to tighten the banjo bolt. So the right side rearset was removed and the brake line bolt was tightened to spec. After scouring over the service...
What part of LA are you (all?) planning to be in? I live near by the airport and know the South Bay and a little bit of OC, decently well.
Santa Monica and Northwards I'm not that familiar with but went on a couple runs up Sunset w/ MarinaFazer, Spam the Food, jtarkany, and n00dle on the...
Damn, got something to do that day or else I'd be joining you guys. Missed out on the last S. Cal ride and I'm gonna have to pass on this one. Ride safe y'all.
Even though they don't have one for the FZ6, Yamaha does have an app in the iphone store. iPhone application | YAMAHA MOTOR
Pretty sure someone on here can make a similar app specific for our bikes. In the mean time rev the hell out of your iphone?:BLAA:
I'm about 15-20 min away from downtown LA, nothing really happened over here. Didn't even notice it at all while cleaning the garage until my brother walked over and told me about it. Everything seems ok, no helicopters in the sky or emergency vehicles running all over the place with full sirens...
Lemme get a solid confirmation for ya a little later.
I'll be doing some work on the bike (next weekend?) to get a fuse panel for aux accessories installed. Its a good opportunity to check the connections.
Btw after taking a look at Dynojet's website there was a map for TB cans...
I put a PCV on my '08 FZ6 and everything clicked/fit/locked in just fine. Not quite sure whats going on with the one you've got. Is there any "flash" (extra plastic from molding) on the connectors that aren't locking in?
On a side note, been a bit busy with work so there hasn't...
I was visiting the Motoport facility 2 days ago to check out their gear and the owner, Wayne was cool enough to show me around the place. In addition to the patents factor that Vegasrider mentioned earlier, the raw materials that go into the product are not cheap at all. When a mass produced...
I bought Olympia's Stealth One Piece 9 months ago and figured its reasonable enough to give it a review at this point.
The suit is made of cordura with mesh panels on the chest, under arms areas, upper thighs, and the back of the legs. This allows for a good amount of air to flow while...
If any of the local BMW dealerships in your area are doing demo rides, that's a good opportunity to test out a s1000r to get a feel of the bike. There was one over here in Los Angeles last weekend. It may take awhile to get over to your area depending on how many of these trucks are running...
Just to make sure we're looking at the same thing, we're talking about this, right?
I've got the bike disassembled for a PCV install and this thing is an '08 *grin* *grin*. Anyways, that connector isn't hooked up to anything either. Maybe its for diagnostics?
Hmmm, well you can always show her the following footage when we encountered traffic and say you were right there as well.
YouTube - Nov 7th - S. California FZ6 Ride
Also, if any of you faster guys wanna say that this is footage from your bike. Feel free, a sorta public service thing...

Steer clear of that Kanji sticker! It doesn't say Yamaha, the first character is yama or zan and the second character is sho. Stick with ヤマハ (Yamaha written in katakana) which is how it usually is written in Japanese.
FZ6 riders don't let fellow FZ6 riders put weird kanji stickers on the back...
Heads up for anyone heading to the sale. The dirt lot they designated for "event parking" is charging $5 bucks per car but there arent any signs anywhere. If you park at the shopping plaza on the corner of Marine and Inglewood, you can just walk on over to the event.
Sale prices are decent in...
