Clutch is a pain in the wrist, and need new bar end mirrors - 2008 FZ6 naked conversion

The other quick mod you can do to help ease the clutch is swap the lower clutch push lever on the clutch cover with one off an MT07. It's slightly longer which gives more leverage and thus lightens things at the hand lever. It won't be as good as nice hydraulic clutch, but it's a quick, easy and...

    New Horn

This is what I did. I got the Denali Soundbomb, which has a very similar form to the Stebel (had the Stebel Nautilus on my old FZS600 Fazer). I put the compressor under the tank, then just about squeezed the horn on the original horn bracket between the forks. Then I just ran the oil hose down...

Summer Tour Around Wales on FZ6

Cool. Not ridden Kentucky yet. Only had the chance to explore the roads around the San Fran Bay area, would love to check out more of the US in the future.

Hi all, from a long time Fazer owner

Don't worry, I adjusted the chain before I put the back wheel back on. ;-)

Hi all, from a long time Fazer owner

Another update: More goodies arrived - a nice Nitron shock. Just the basic 1-way R1 version (I'm not made of money!) But by-gum removing the stock shock was a right pain. Had to angle grind some grooves in the collar, then slowly rotate it free with a hammer and drift. Definitely feels better...

    Cameleon PLUS Chain Oiler Review

Tutoro is another brand of chain oiler you might want to check out. I recently was sent one to review on my blog, so usual sponsored product caveats etc, but without wanting to be too biased, I've found it pretty decent and have no complaints with it. Cheaper than this Cameleon one and the...

Summer Tour Around Wales on FZ6

With all sorts of riding plans screwed by the pandemic, myself and the family managed to grab a couple of weeks in Wales on bikes staying with grandparents and exploring all the best routes. Not super exotic, but some great riding and stunning countryside nonetheless. Hope you enjoy!

Hi all, from a long time Fazer owner

Cool, thanks for advice. I provided my mechanic with these suggested values: https://www.racetech.com/ProductSearch/12/Yamaha/FZ6/2007 15wt oil, 10mm preload and 130mm airgap. Work already underway, hope to have bike back later today or tomorrow. Guess those values will give me a good starting...

Hi all, from a long time Fazer owner

Goodies arrived! ;-) PDQ (place I linked to above) had a 20% sale on for summer, so could hardly resist. Bike is currently with my local mechanic for fitment and full fork service (new seals etc), should have bike back for weekend. Also ordered a Nitron shock too, but they're on back order...

Hi all, from a long time Fazer owner

Amazon.co.uk and ebay.co.uk only have US sellers of Racetech products, all with crazy high delivery prices. Plus I'd get stumped for VAT and import duty upon arrival on top of that. Prices at the dealer I linked to seem to be about on par for UK stockists, and will likely be cheapest option for...

    Zamm

Picked up ZAMM when stuck out in NJ on my own for a work trip few years ago. Figured it would be an interesting enough read when on my lonesome eating out in bars, restaurants and hotel after working. But wow, had me totally hooked, couldn't put it down, week later finished it on the long haul...

Just to confirm, is this pair the correct parts for my FZ6 S2? https://pdq1.com/product/racetech-front-fork-springs-367x345x315-85kg-frsp-s3732085 https://pdq1.com/product/racetech-fork-emulator-kit-335261170mm-fegv-s4101

Hi all, from a long time Fazer owner

Cool, many thanks for the info! I'Il hunt down a UK supplier of parts and price up the whole job and make some decisions ready for pay day!

Hi all, from a long time Fazer owner

Just checking out the Racetech GVE's - looks like a good option and appears I can source them easily enough in the UK from shocktech.co.uk for £169. The dust seals on my forks are just starting to crumble a little around the edges, so could be a good time to just sort seals and fit these...

Hi all, from a long time Fazer owner

Countryside: That were a shot from the Welsh hills near Llanbister on trip up to see family that way. Early morning climb out of the misty valleys to get out above into the sun. Suspension wise: TBH I've only really been looking at shock replacements thus far, Hagon (as their factory is local...
