It was a pleasure meeting you as well Gary! Thank you for the kind words. I am REALLY excited to see what you do with the bike and I am thrilled its in good hands. P.S. the spare air box in the photos was for a project that never came to fruition. The original airbox is installed and intact on...

Any good rec's for FZ6 Naked conversion kit?

I think I am going to look into it a little more. I was hoping to get something pre-packaged and a straight swap but my concern was exactly what you stated (missing or ill fitting pieces) because most of those kits seem to be from china and probably manufactured in large quantities with other...

Reviving the Dead: FZ6 not ridden for 10yrs

ITS ALIVE! I wish I could post the startup video on here but my phone is being weird. However, the start was very successful, new fuel pump had no issues. Hopefully tank liner holds up well, gave it 4 days to cure with good air flow through tank after 2 days. And gary you were correct it did end...

Reviving the Dead: FZ6 not ridden for 10yrs

Ugh, running into a snag. FZ6 has lips on upper and low opening for gas tank. This means there is no way to remove excess to point where there wont be pooling. That would render the whole sealant process useless as per the instructions. Not sure what to do next. Only option I can think would be...

Reviving the Dead: FZ6 not ridden for 10yrs

Okay, fuel tank 95% clean, but need advice about that last stubborn 5 percent. Two, 48hr periods of soaking in metal rescue has removed almost all but there is stubborn bits along seam and other areas. You can see a great deal was removed but I don't know if those gummed up seams are rust, or...

Reviving the Dead: FZ6 not ridden for 10yrs

Looking at the different sealers, it looks like red-kote tank sealer might be the easiest to apply after removing the rust. Have you had or heard of any experiences with that?

Reviving the Dead: FZ6 not ridden for 10yrs

Updates with pics: fuel pump still enroute. Going to oil and turn cylinder heads today manually. After several days on battery/charger tender. Battery is holding appropriate voltage (12.7 to 13.2 based on videos Ive watched indicates full charge), obviously not sure it will last in long run but...
