I have a fairly decent collection of sockets but wasn't able to get my fork caps loose (prior to loosening the lower triple clamp, as recommended by a friend).
Seemed to be close to 15/16 but I assume they are metric, which would be 24mm.
Can someone here confirm before I go shopping...
Wandered down to St. Louis last weekend to crash a party a friend was throwing, and bake some pies. It is fall, after all.
Quick 11hr, 550mi day down there. It was 39F when I awoke on Friday, so I went back to bed and didn't actually leave until after 9.
I abhor the interstate, so I took...
Not many people logging consistent averages over 50mpg US. That seem right to you?

I logged a short 600 mile weekend of driftless region twisties loaded down with 80lbs of crap and pulled 48 and 51. :scratch
Any of you have a logon over there? Thinking...
Open pipes are on their radar. Stay off the throttle a bit around the tourists and we might be able to stave off tickets and bans for a few years.

Winter is drawing near, in a few months it will be time to sacrifice a few old tshirts to the bike washing gods for the annual whether-it-needs-it-or-not pre-storage-wash.
I see some people washing and polishing their bikes constantly, and I am perplexed. What is the consensus around here?
I ride with a number of people who have 'adventure' bikes, be they VStroms, BMW GSes, KLR650s, or any others of that ilk.
On the way to meet some of them for a rally in WI, I took a detour to the Porcupine Mountains and camped in one of their 'extension' sites. Read: no services. It hailed...

Route is roughly US 61 to Point Douglas, MN 23 North thru Afton, MN 95 to Taylor's Falls, US 8 back to the metro. Not a lengthy ride but a good sunday morning, get to...
And brought home 9th place!
First time I'd ever done anything like it. It was a ton of fun, great group of people, and very gracious when they learned I took on their auxiliary fuel cell equipped, radar detector having, huge ass land barge sport touring machines with my little FZ6. :rockon...
Hey.
I live perhaps six blocks from Dulono's and am frequently there for first thursday.
Would be entertaining to get a bunch of us up to Sir Ben's in Duluth for last tuesday as well, perhaps take the backroads thru 'sconnie on the way up there.
I've also scouted some reasonably good...
Recently purchased '06 FZ6. Front signal lights are always on. When I signal, the one stays on, the other flashed.
I want them off unless I'm signaling. Is there a wiring schematic available, or does anyone know where this may have been spliced in? Would like to undo it.
Thx much.
