    Front brake switch part number

First, apologies for having been off the grid for so long. I'm not the forum/internet person I once was. Really great seeing familiar names still posting here. I'm looking for the front brake switch part number. Google searches pulls up eBay links and I would prefer to order from Amazon or...

    Garage Door Opener

At my old house, I employed the horn-wife method for opening the door. There is too much distance for this to work at the new place so I put an old opener in my tank bag. This worked well enough but I wasn't satisfied. Without further ado, I present the sleeper opener. Here's a clip of...

    Where is the donation thread?

So I've noticed we are now 600riders.com. Did the donations not go far enough? Where is the thread that requested the funds?

    Wannabe gangs

Hot on the heels of the Range Rover incident, my wife and I saw mini gang Saturday. We were headed up 95N and stuck in a little bit of traffic due to police activity up ahead when, on the right shoulder, a quad and 3-4 other 2-stroke dirt bikes came ripping up. Half of them were riding...

    Airhawk R review

I got an Airhawk R because my commute (30 miles, 40-70 minutes each way, average 55 minutes) is really starting to get to me. My primary issues are groin, and general butt discomfort. Back/tailbone are OK. I'm 6'1", 160 lbs. Here’s my initial review (<50 miles). It’s good and bad...

    Great Tune

Friend of mine told me about Phosphorescent, a relatively unknown band. The latest album as a whole is great... I recommend getting it. This song is one of my instant favorites. THEN I listened to the lyrics and thought you guys might like as well. Enjoy! Phosphorescent - Ride On /...

    Would you replace these pads?

Have the wheels off for new tires. Have new pads and HEL ss lines ready to go. The stock pads have 19.5k miles on them. I measured them to have about 2 mm to the wear point (the little nub on the corner of the backing plate). Since I'm getting new tires, lines, and fluid, my logic is to...

    Darwin Award Attempt

At least, I assume it was an attempt and not a full on award. Smart move, dummy. LiveLeak.com - Motorcycle rider gets rammed by car he was harrasing LOVE the guy getting out and checking his car first, then strolling over to the guy. Sorry if it's a repost.

Are peg feelers a bad idea?

I've scraped the peg feelers a total of 2 times. One of those times, it scared the sh-t out of me, and I pulled up and rode onto (thankfully) soft grass. http://www.600riders.com/forum/fz6-general-discussion/46476-so-i-uh-colored-outside-lines-today.html I hear a lot of people take them off...

    No luggage? No problem!

It turns out I have 2.1 liters of storage built right in! After the week I had at work, I needed 6 bottles of... medicine but didn't have my backpack. Was able to stuff my morning jacket and a sixer in there. GET IN MAH BELLY!

Bars, ends, and grips... Oh my!

Looking for the collective knowledge on what to do here. Bases on what I've read, I'm going with FZ1 bars. That's the easy part. What I'm not sure on is the bar ends and grips. I had at one point considered throttlemeister ends but at the price they go for, it's not worth it for the occasional...

    Check Engine Light Help

Almost made it all the way to work (30 mile, 60 minute commute, cool morning - 50F), sitting at a light after sitting in traffic, the CEL came on. It went away as soon as I pulled away. In parking lot, I let it idle, and the light returned. Again, as soon as I raised the RPMs, the light went...

    Got caught speeding yesterday

Was on my way home on I495 after riding some backroads with a friend. It was starting to get dark and I only had my dark shield with me*. I had a feeling that I was pushing the limits of speed and it just didn't feel right. Then as I was hitting the off ramp, lights. No shoulder on the ramp...

    Coolant flush pic

FYI, for those wondering what flushed coolant looks like, see here: On the right is the old coolant (2.5 years old) which is mixed with the first pass of dist water. On the left, we have the second flush. It appears the second pass is pretty clear. Could be skipped if in a hurry. However...

MSF Instructors... You're input is requested

Well, any experienced riders as well, see here: http://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=fvwrel&v=Jiqu_o2hoJ0 It's a little long but it basically goes through the standard 'newbie' mistakes as this guy sees it. I like the initial points of pre-ride check but the delivery isn't what I'd call high...

    Stock seat rattle fix

The passenger portion of the seat was rattling against the support bars, so I added some rubber to stop it. Not sure it my seat was missing stoppers or not. If you bump the rear seat down with your hand and get a vibration, this might work of you. Here is a pic where it was hitting: And...

    Loose kickstand?

While doing some spring cleaning (ok... Haven't really started yet but I'm getting there), I noticed the side stand is "loose". Normal? Ugh... Can't upload video via tapatalk? Anyway, at the knuckle where it pivots down, it also pivots out 3/4" when pushed, then returns under spring.

    March MODness!

Rode twice in January, once a few days ago. I'm itching so bad to be actively out there on two wheels... So while I should have been planning, purchasing, and installing since December, I didn't and here I am... desperate to get things ordered and on the bike for spring riding. Already...
