Thanks, the price makes me think of keeping it for myself - especially after all the upgrades. But, I'd rather have someone else enjoy the bike instead of being a second choice in my garage.
My new ride is a Suzuki GSXS1000 with ABS.
*SOLD* For sale is my 2005 Yamaha Fz6 with approx 24,400 miles. The bike is well maintained and mechanically very sound. Has quite a few upgrades to make it handle nicer than the stock version, along with a Givi storage for longer rides. It is fully serviced for this year with brand new (just...
ok, since the post, I have tried (psi)
- 25f/28r based on my previous setting which gave me confidence on the Angels, felt same as the old tires, no feeling of slipping etc. It was also in damp conditions when I put the new tires on, so it was a good thing to not feel any sliding because of new...
I got the 'stones mounted - what a pain with the rear tire side wall being so stiff!! Hope it lasts atleast one season as I think replacing them will cause a lot of cursing. Now, I used to run pretty low pressure on the pirelli (25psi front/28psi rear I think) . What do you guys with the...
Good call!! But with the front tire almost bald on the right hand side, I think I will take the gamble before the strings start showing on them. Gotta mount them soon and test for a few rides before putting the bike away for the winter.
Yes, Pirelli is one of the choices but are you sure the Rosso 2/3 lasted 15000 kms? That is more than what my current Pirelli Angels have on them and they are already due for replacement.
Thanks for the response, I think I will try the BT-016 Pros out and find out.
Looking at the...
I see this preference of BT-016 Pro Fronts to a different rear tire - is it because of low mileage from the rears? How are BT-023s for both Front and rear? The 40$ rebate is on both BT-016 and BT-023. As long as the sticky tires last a season, I am good.
Thanks for the response guys. I see that the majority would vote for Michelin Road series, although I am more biased towards the Sport category and not the Sport touring that the PR's belong to (I maybe wrong). The reason I am trying this out is to see if I really need to move up to 1000cc...
So, my Pirelli Angels are almost worn out and I am out shopping for the next set of tires for my bike. Have run Metzeler Z8 earlier, long life but dull rides. Pirellis have been fun, less mileage though. Both tires have not had any issue with grip - dry or wet - for my riding style, although...
Sorry for not keeping this thread updated. We had been the the Tail last weekend, and it was a lot of fun.
We rode all the way from Columbus Ohio to Townsend TN , where we had our cabin booked. The ride was long and tiring due to starting at 3.30PM and reaching Townsend only at midnight. But...
Planning a ride to Deals Gap/Dragons tail on 6/18.
Tentative plan : Start from Columbus, Ohio on friday - 6/17 after 1.30PM to reach Nashville/Gatlinberg/nearby. Will be riding the `Tail on saturday - 6/18 and ride back home on 6/19.
It would be great to meet new riders at the Gap, and...
Not today, but a couple of weekends ago :
- upgraded the stock forks on my 05 with R6 ones after
- installing new seals on the new twin pot calipers
- installing new dust caps on the forks
- Flushing the oil fork oil and replacing it with Maxima 5 WT oil
- lowered the R6 forks by 6mm...
I like my Fz6, but am also looking at the FJ09/XSR900/FZ09 series for a possible upgrade in the future. So, I have this question for you - what is the range(miles per tank) you get on the FJ09?
I have those preload adjusters on my stock forks that were just replaced with R6 ones. There was some perceived improvement when those preload adjusters were used with the stock springs, but it felt pretty useless once I got the racetech springs that were correct for my weight. That was with the...
