    First Road Trip...

Thanks for all of the advice. I friend will be riding his GSXR, so a ride straight through wont be an option :) My saddle bags are somewhat sizable (if I can get them mounted correctly), but still only plan on bringing half the amount of clothes and doing laundry half way though somewhere.

    First Road Trip...

Thanks for all the great info. Is there a small bottle of lube that yall use for the chain when travelling? I would rather not bring my 'can' of stuff. I go to Nashville every year and have never heard of Davis Cookware, and I love me some coffee. Will certainly make that stop

    First Road Trip...

So after 3 years of riding, I have finally decided to go on a road trip with a friend. We will go from Chicago to New Orleans, stopping in Nashville (2 nights) on the way down, then spend 3 nights in New Orleans and Memphis (1 night) on the way back to Chicago. We have booked our places in...

Does every version of the FZ6 have a coolant resivor?

Damn I watched a YouTube video and it was in the rear under the seat. I never would have thought they changed it by year. Oops :spank: I drained it, put water in and drained it again, the filled it up. Would it be worth it to do it all over again if I did not drain the resivor?

Does every version of the FZ6 have a coolant resivor?

Yes, I know this sounds crazy. But I have been staring at my bike for 30 minutes with a flashlight and can't find the damn over fill jug. I have drained the coolant and cycled some water through, but ideally would have taken the crap out of the over fill compartment. Bike is a 2009 btw ;) Thanks!

    Rear flat tire, options?

Will the plug work if the hole is within the tread? Might have to give this a try

    Rear flat tire, options?

hmmm I got a bottle of slime, and couldn't get it to work for the life of me (shows you how mechanically inclined I am), however its in a plastic bottle. Maybe I need to find a compressed can.

    Rear flat tire, options?

So at the end of last summer, I ended up getting a flat tire thanks to a metal object on a 4 month old tire. I've been very lazy, but would like to get my bike up and running ASAP for spring. So in my garage I have my bike, with a tire that is completely flat. I am not handy at all, the most...

    Anyone with UBER user experience

You can use rzua4. Should be good for $20. Thats crazy. In Chicago, the base fare is 1.70, and its .90 per mile.

    Anyone with UBER user experience

Are you factoring tip into the equation as well (tip is included with uber)? If not that could be an additional 20 % Also, I'm a big fan of using it in cities I'm not familiar with. They email you a reciept and the exact gps route taken, so you know that someone didn't just drive you around...

    Anyone with UBER user experience

That is really odd, but I can see it happening. If it makes you feel any better, Uber gives drivers a bunch of crap for cancelling on riders. You need to maintain a certain 'acceptance' or you could lose your privileges

    Anyone with UBER user experience

I never really took it seriously, but I stopped for a few reasons... I have a 'real' job, and and the thought of me picking up someone I work with (boss or other executive) scared me. I'm in Chicago, and am not great with cross streets. People would get in my car and say take me to...

    Anyone with UBER user experience

I use it all the time, I think the amount of Uber drivers may be nearing cabbies in Chicago. Also, a year or so ago, just out of curiosity, I became an Uber driver (man I have odd hobbies). It only lasted a month or two. I cant remember the last time I took a cab. Not having to carry cash...

    Hi from Chicago

Well a couple friends and I made the trip to Starved Rock yesterday. Beautiful windy ride up there. Then on the way back we got stuck in storms the entire way. If I never have to be stuck in Chicago bumper to bumper traffic soaking wet, I will be happy.

    Hi from Chicago

I've only been to Starve Rock once, so I'm certainly not an expert. I remember it only being a 90 minute ride, where as I know Galena is 2-3 hours. Figure we might get a better turn out for a shorter ride. But I'm down for whatever, if we can get a group together.

    Hi from Chicago

Anyone interested in doing a ride from Chicago out to Starved Rock? Perhaps meet in Chicago in the late morning, riding out to Starved Rock, go through some twisties, get some lunch, and head back?

    Dealer / Independent Service?

I needed to get new tires on my bike. Called the local Yamaha dealership, guy was nice enough, but told me it was a minimum of 3 weeks to be seen. Went to a local used bike dealership (after calling and them telling me they can get me in) and they were kinda jerks, but did get me in same...

Should i buy full fairing or just stick to belly pan?

My bike came with a bellypan (black bike black belly pan). I certainly wouldn't pay for it, but it adds a clean look for a black bike. I've kept it on while changing oil and things, and it is now scratched up, so it can also be a pain :)
