Anyone know where I can find a Laser Quad slip on exhaust? I've looked online, checked eBay. I'm guessing used will be my best bet. Is there any distributor I can contact? I'm located in Canada but can drive down to the USA.
Thanks. I figure I'm going to run it for a month and see how it feels. If it was the front I wouldn't risk it. I feel really silly installing them like this but I'm glad I caught it before the pad was worn out.
Hey Guys,
Here's a weird one. Cleaning my chain today and I noticed my rear brake pad slid out of the grooves in the front of the brake caliper bracket. See photos.
I didn't think it could be like this since I changed the rear brake piston cylinder seals over a year ago, but looking at the...
For those looking to do this job in the future the parts you'll need are:
Valve Cover Gasket - 5SL-11193-00-00 - 52 CAD from the dealer
Cam Chain Tensioner Gasket - 4FM-12213-00-00 - $4
Oil Pump Cover Gasket - 5SL-15456-01-00 - $20
Water Pump Crush Washer - 93210-32172 - $7
Without sacrificing too much fuel economy I'm leaning towards going 16:48 teeth. As you've said in the past Gary:
15:46 produces an FDR of 6.4934, a change of 6%
16:48 produces an FDR of 6.3523, a change of 4%
16:49 produces an FDR of 6.4846, a change of 6%
Thank you for all the info.
Is there any downside to going to a 520 chain conversion?
I'm also thinking about going down a tooth in the front or up two teeth in the rear (probably up two in the rear to prevent excessive wear). Does anyone know how many km/h I will lose at top speed or in 5th...
Hey forum,
Wondering if anyone can speak to the life left in these sprockets. Bike has 50,000km [31,000 miles].
Also wondering if anyone has had success ordering chains from a machine shop to save cost.
Thank you,
Went on a long trip over the weekend and experienced some low speed churning sound in rhythm with the rear tire rotation. The sound only happens when applying throttle, not during coasting. Once above 25km/h the sound fades into the noise of the bike.
I checked the chain that night and it was...
No news - you're probably right about the ground and signal wires being swapped. I used a plug in connector from my Yamaha dealer that plugs into the harness - I remember once I plugged it in that the signals worked (with hyperflash) with either wires connected (I must have plugged the ground...
Hey Guys,
Hopefully someone can help.
I installed this integrated tail light - no hyperflash.
Then I installed these LED turn signals in the front - hyperflash.
Then I installed this relay - still hyperflash, but not only when bike is running.
Then I installed these resistors in parallel -...
Hey forum,
Wondering if I'm having bad luck or an electrical issue. A couple years ago I installed the Competition Werkes integrated rear turn signals. It lasted a few months before some of the LED's burnt out and then I experienced hyperflash. I replaced it and the replacement lasted nearly a...
I haven't had a chance to monkey around with it. I've got the replacement bolt, I'm just not looking forward to opening this can of worms. My rear wheel gets over one spin by hand which is better than before. The brakes work still but I intend to replace the cylinder seal once I get the caliper...
Hey Forum,
Trying to pull my rear caliper and the bolt that holds it to the bracket (the one of the two towards the front of the bike) is super stiff. It takes an unreal amount of torque to unscrew and once it does start to move it's very difficult to turn and doesn't seem to back out.
I...
Watched a video on the new 2018 MT-07 and now I'm thinking I want some frame mounted turn signals.
I'll be going naked sometime next year when I can afford it but in the meantime I've started the process with bar end mirrors. I was thinking I could pull the turn signals and buy some LED turn...
Anyone else have any options? Do the stock bar ends really weigh 300g and does that save your hands from vibration?
edit: Going to end up modding the stock bar ends like this - New mods: bar end mirrors, chopped windscreen, some DIY stuff etc... - FZ1OA Message Board
Let me know if you have any...
Just tighten that action on to the hand grips? Seems to work however I've got big hands, need all the space I can get
