Mind you...this is based off a US FSM and US parts fisch, but part number 24 points to the center relay. Looks like it could be the fan motor relay. The one to the left of it is the turn signal realy and the one to the right is the dimmer relay.

There are 2 4-pin relays in the left pod, one for the headlights and the other for the cooling fan. So assuming that the headlights are working normally, pull the relay, start the bike and if the headlights work then it's the fan relay.

Hi thanks for your replys, due to this virus iv disconnected the battery and bought it
back indoors (to stop it being stolen ) garage a long way from house ...!
disc locked and chained through back wheel ...!!! so should be safe ?
the dimmer relay is to the right and has 16 pins
the lighting was OK as was the starting and fuel pump
but bikes fan has never been on to my knowledge ?
the bike is running great it was just recently i did full filter change oil / air
and noticed a petrol smell id never smelt before after a 30 mile run
then finding this damaged relay thought it might be because of it
ill replace it anyway

Thanks

The dimming relay does not have 16 pins, thats the immobilizer. If the fan didn’t run you’d know it. While the fan runs smooth and quiet, when they don’t work the bike will overheat at a stop light.

The bike should not over heat at short stopping times. The FZ6 runs very efficiently as for as cooling goes.
The 16 pin assembly in that part of the bike is the starter circuit cut out relay assembly that takes care of safety protocol regarding side stand and in gear starting etc.

Yes that 16 pin assembly (all 16 pins are not used) is a starter interrupt/cut off relay assembly. It contains diodes and 2 relays. 1 relay (internal)that runs the fuel pump and 1 relay (internal) that interrupts the passage of current to the main starter relay. It looks at the neutral safety switch, side stand switch and clutch lever switch. to logically look at those switches and interrupt the starter from operating if the bike is in gear with out the clutch lever being pulled in, or it sees the the bike is in neutral before allowing the starter to operate. The other relay is controlled by the ECU and turns off the fuel pump if the bike is put in gear with the side stand in the down position etc. Basically a safety interrupt relay assembly.

There are 2 identical relays. Below are the wire color codes as depicted in #6 post.

Fan relay has wire colors:
Brown with black tracer
Red with white tracer
Blue
Green with yellow tracer

Headlight relay wire colors:
Red with yellow tracer
Green
Yellow with black tracer

The 16 pin module is the Starter interrupt-Cut off Relay assembly.
Also this thread will help. https://www.600riders.com/threads/no-neutral-light-and-no-current-from-starter-switch.59609/
