Just got back. Left a day early, but after the heat this weekend, too much beer and missing my boy I couldn't do another night, especially if it had been even busier than Friday night.

Had a cracking ride both ways, and a good weekend all round. Put in some ok times on the drag strip. All around the 13 to 13.1 mark, with my best at 12.99 and 107.07mph. My mate and I were on work horse bikes, so no burnouts to warm the tyres and just doing aggressive "normal" starts instead of dumping clutch. I still spun the back end all through first gear every time mind, and beat him four for four though so my honour is intact!

Thank you for sharing your trip with us! Those times are decent for that bike! Those bangers look great! Now I have an idea for dinner tonight. It'll be bangers n mash! I do smashed red potatoes with a little finely chopped grilled onions, milk, butter, salt, fresh ground black pepper and fresh garlic. Bangers in a skillet with cabbage on top. Got the idea from 2 places that call themselves English and Irish pubs with food here in SoCal. :)

I have the same Supersprox you have. The company that makes them is a few hours away from me and I actually picked mine up at the manufacturer while on a holiday trip..

They were really good. Chilli dogs with mustard. My cooking arrangements were quite funny: I was clearing out some old boxes from the garage and found one full our old Navy kit, including a fully loaded webbing set from my wife's Afghan deployment training, complete with hexi stove so I took that instead of spending money on butane cans. All those times sat in a field eating rat packs (MREs) from mess tins when I could have had bacon, sausages, eggs, hash browns........ Lol

Hey Motorgiro: one of these years, maybe FZ6 Forum members will propose to, somehow, arrange an int'l group ride. Don't ask me how! But, boy, it sure would be interesting----int'l riders along side in UK or US in an epic group ride. Maybe next time to Europe I'll arrange to have my FZ6 shipped there. Wait, that would be WAY too expensive! Oh well, just a thought.

payneib: thanks for posting up the trip! One of these days, I'm going to have to ride in Britain on the...wrong side of the road!

And this is the behemoth I was against:

1900cc and 181737483929374ft/lbs of torque meant I was a bike length or two behind for the first third, then I got out of second gear and KAPOW!!! Lol

Yeah that's the Yamaha Star Stratoliner. My neighbor had one and I rode it quite a few times. That bike is actually a great performing bike for it's weight and size when compared to other cruisers I've ridden.

It would be a truly epic ride to get an international ride going and I'd want our friends in Oz to also be with us cuz it just wouldn't be right without them. Stranger things have happened in the universe! Blah

Lol. I don't think I did too bad seeing as I was protecting tyres, clutch and gearbox. There's not many car drivers that can put in a sub 13s run in the cheap and easy commuter, lol.

Looks like you had a blast, thanks for sharing, good to know you put those hexi burners to good use

Rat (ration) packs weren't all that bad as long as you had enough condiments to "spice"it up, we always had an emergency (ammo) box of condiments in the 4 tonner, for when we got called out on excercise when I was stationed in Germany (way back when) :D

BTW I think the Humber bridge shot is a good contender for BOTM

They actually come with tabbasco sauce now, which is a slight improvement. I always took a little pot of paprika mixed with a few herbs and chilli powders. But actual bacon would have been much better! Lol.

I was thinking of BOTM when I took it, don't think I've entered this year yet, just haven't had the opportunity to take any good ones. That was my fourth crossing of six this month. Last weekend on the way back from Cardiff I went the slightly longer way round so I could do the Severn Bridge and the Humber Bridge on the same day.
