Man that is completely up to you, the individual. As for me, I made my own. But to try and help, here is some information and videos (Keep in mind recording and playback quality will vary from video to video):

Good discussion here on whether or not you will need a Power Commander with aftermarket slip ons: http://www.600riders.com/forum/fz6-general-discussion/29417-just-bought-2006-fz6-need-some-help.html

wowza! the laser extreme and akra's both LOST power!

Leo Vince FTW!
YouTube - krid80's Channel

I find those results VERY hard to believe. Dyno results are know to vary greatly with weather changes if the results are not corrected / adjusted. Even running an identical machine back to back on the same dyno can show changes.

I'm simply not buying it that my Laser Quad, or any aftermarket exhaust, has caused a loss of power compared to the restrictive stock system.

I do buy the numbers that the Laser Quad is the quietest aftermarket system (with the db-killers installed).

And the other thing that the Laser Quad has going for it, is that it doesn't protrude from the back of the bike like the other ugly systems do. :)

Everyone pops a boner and assumes all stock systems, because they are stock, are sooo restrictice. I really don't think the stock system is that restrictive, it just kills the sound. Of course two wide open cans will be less restrictive, but it's all about tuning. How many CFM at what pressure do you need to produce 100hp? It's really not as much as you'd think.

And I could definitely believe the lasers loose power. Just look at them, how do they acieve sound supression with MUCH LESS volume than all of the other systems? Restriction.

They didn't show the Scorpions because they were off the chart and the results wouldn't fit on the same page as the rest of these INFERIOR exhaust options.

not only that but an effective exhaust has good scavenging.... but going from 1 to 4 would reduce exhaust speed and make less power.

Two Brothers Specs link added, none availale for scorpions, however Scorpions does say that their exhaust is the only exhaust on the market that does need fuel remapping (take that for what its worth, I would suspect that if no mapping is required, there probably would not be a hp increase).

this man speaks the truth. Any naturally aspirated engine doesnt need a hugely free flowing exhaust, there is a fine balance to which your back pressure can given up to make power... give up too much and the entire mechanical system will suffer.
Besides, all dyno tests like this are done VERY professionally so that they cannot be argued (really wish I could read the article)

It isnt a pimple faced high school student starting his apprenticeship doing these test, these guys keep all variables exactly the same, even the starting temperature of all the internals.

Great thread, I applaud you and vote to make this a sticky

Black FZ6 flew past me this morning on Roe Highway (if you are out there, PM me and say hello.....)

Stock pipes - squealed as it went past me rather than the deep, throaty sound of my beautiful Scorps.

Biased? Maybe a little, but there are plenty of other Scorpion lovers out there who know that we do have the best looking and sounding pipes out there ;)
