Good day!
What are the symptoms of a faulty IACV
2005 FZ6N
My bike idles at 1600-1700rpm coldstart
Then idles 1200-1300 when warm
But when i reached 3-4 bars of temp gauge
My idle jumps around 1300-1600 rpm and runs a bit hot sometimes rpm hangs around 2k rpm
Ive checked for vacuum leak, by spraying carb cleaner to joints and hose and found nothing.
I figured i'll try to disable the IACV by removing the hose and bypass it.
What are your thoughts?

Haven't replaced my TPS yet
When ever i hit the throttle check engine flashes and bogs down around 8k rpm.
My gauge cluster button is not working i cant go to diag mode
Found out it has a recall and never been replaced
Ive ordered it and im still waiting for it to arrive

Without knowing if the ref is throwing flags on the field..... You might checking to see that your not producing over voltage at higher rpms.

Ive installed a voltmeter its not overcharging at higher rpm 14.3V highest ive seen then bogs down
Ive just rebuilt the engine with new engine valves and the clearance is up to spec.
New
sparkplugs
Thermostat
Timing chain
Headgasket
Valveseals
Mechanical seal
Radiator and hoses
Cleaned the throttle bodies
Lubed throttle cables
Sometimes it hangs sometimes its not.
I'll install the TPS once it arrives then manually calibrate it using ohmeter.
Ill give you guys an update.

I've bought myself a moneypit.

Did you sync the throttle bodies?

Also what part specifically are you referring to an an Idle Air Control Valve?

Can you adjust the idle down (screw on left side) down to about 1,100 warm?
The one that has 2 coolant hoses,
I havent sync the bike yet after rebuild
im planning to sync it after ive installed the new TPS
Adjusting the idle screw did nothing screwing it CC or clockwise has no effect
Ive tried closing the screws in the sync block which helped a bit.
Then Ive adjusted the TPS to richen the mixture (maybe a bit to rich) now ive got control to the idle screw, idle is bouncing 900-1100 but still has the hanging RPM.
So im guessing my IACV is somewhat sticking or the TPS is really faulty

Sorry if you guys having a hard time understanding my english im trying my best to explain what im experiencing to my bike.
This is frustrating and exhausting

Somewhere along the line I remember an FZ6 owner that had an erratic idle due to a clog in the IAVC. Worth exploring when you have it all apart.
Ive read about it, and i removed the parts inside the syncblock and cleaned them, but its still them, maybe the iacv which the coolant passes thru is the problem.
Im Trying to isolate na the problem
Thank you

Check the adjustment on the base screw in the block. It is likely set in too lean (under 3/4 turn out or so).

Adjust that one out to 7/8 to 1 full turn out. You should be ale to adjust your idle now...

You really need the TB sync tool (or make one). Adjusting the other 3 cylinders is critical at this time (for you) as you have no idea where their set.

Thank you for the tip, i'll make sure to do it after i install the new TPS

Just up to regular operating temps is fine.

I put a large fan in front of the radiator should I be tuning for awhile.. I don't want the fan kicking on...

Besides syncing at idle, re-check at 4K RPM... You'll likely see some difference and can adjust that for smoother performance...

And don't worry about atmospheric spec's.. Just get all even..

Spec's allow up to 10 MMs variance. spending a little more time (thus the large, additional fan), you can get them MUCH closer.

My last sync after a valve adjustment:

My last sync after a valve adjustment:
#1 as my basepoint , #2 #3 #4 should all match #1
should i be looking for the lowest vacuum or the highest vacuum?
Im using vacuum gauges, i dont have a manometer.

The tps arrived today and i installed and sync it using vacuum gauges
It idles stable unlike before its bouncing - / + 300 rpms
I dont have any adjustment to lower my idle
I cant enter diag mode so i used multimeter to set the tps at first ive tried to set it at .67v cant adjust the idle, then adjusted to .70v still no adjustment to lower my Idle,
Ive closed off all sync block screw and still it lowered the idle just a bit,
I want to set it at 1100-1200
No vacuum leak because ive sprayed all joints and hoses with carburetor cleaner there is no change in idle so i guess its all good.
What could this be? Im confused to whats happening

1/2 turn isn't enough.. Did you pull the block apart and check for clogs?

Your idle issue sounds like it's coming from this block, issues at 8,000 RPM is something else..
I did dis assembled it blasted carburetor cleaner removed alot of carbon deposit from it, reinstalled the sync screws oring and small washer.
Ive tried screwing them all out and my idle is skyrocketing.
Last thing i didn't do was to replace oring from the iacv and idle screw
Ive adjusted the tps to .73V it did lowered my idle to 1200-1300 (richening the mixture)
My issue above 8k rpm seems to be my cheap universal fuel pump ive bought , my guess is im losing pressure up in there
Denso fuel pump is on my "to buy list" now
Fuel pressure regulator if im lucky to find one at 36psi

This forum is alot of help, i've been reading so much info that it overwhelmed my mind hahaha
