Fork Cap Size

Hey all, first post here, I'm doing a fork rebuild but have no idea what size socket/wrench I need for opening the fork Cap Bolt on the front forks

Looked on the google, read through the service and owners manual, still nothing

Any one know?

The one socket that fits would be the one to use. I’m sorry, I don’t have oem caps so I can’t check. They are probably somewhere around 22mm

Before you remove the forks from the bike: loosen the top triple tree clamps, use that 24mm socket/wrench to break the caps free, then loosen the bottom clamps to remove the forks.

You’ll have a hard time holding the forks if you don’t loosen the cap first. Also, if you need to hold the forks upright in a vise, hold it by the caliper brackets, not either of the tubes.
