Long story short, lost my bike cover and it’s been raining for the past few months on and off and i think i haven’t ridden my bike in those 2 months and i tried starting it up today after charging, and it started up and when i go to rev it there’s barely any power. could it be because of old fuel? I’ll try to attach a video tommrow morning, but it’s not the fuel pump i don’t think cause don’t those have a noise ? Anyways, any tips would be appreciated.
Thanks

Could be old fuel. Do you hear the fuel pump prime when to turn the key on? Sound like it's leaning out when you open the throttle. Does it idle normally?

you know i didn’t hear the fuel pump prine. Maybe it’s both bad fuel and bad fuel pump. I’ll look at it tomorrow. Thanks

Water in the fuel? Get a sample in a clear jar (drained from the bottom of the fuel tank) and look for separation. If you have water in your fuel the water will settle at the bottom of the jar (because its heavier) and there should be a light blue liquid above the clear water (mogas).

Didn’t see any water in the tank but i drained some of it out. The fuel pump is on priming.

video the pump is priming but getting no power.
Motor sound like the idle is set high to compensate for stalling.. Likely an imbalance in cylinder fuel mixtures. Not all cylinders are firing the same. I would start by checking the fuel pump pressure. As soon as you open the throttle, adding air, it leans out. You have more than one problem and your bike needs some servicing. You may also have a slow fuel injector. There may be deferred maintenance such as valve lash, throttle body synchronization, etc

Thanks, i don’t have the tools on hands to test any of that, but for now i’ll try to switch out the gas and fully charge the battery and see what happens. If it’s still having issues i’ll likely take it in.

If your battery voltage is above near 13 ish vdc while running, I would not throw a battery at this right now. If it cranks over okay I wouldn't just expect a battery to solve this. If the voltage is low that might add to the issue because sensors need a minimum threshold but I bet this is related to fuel problems first. Many factors are required for the engine to run correctly.
We can help with advise on this but I suspect you need an experienced friend for the hands on.

Got it, i’m gonna double check the air filters and replace the fuel pump, i saw on youtube that might be what’s causing it and ill go on diagnosing from there.
thanks

I wouldn’t start throwing parts at the bike, it will make diagnostics more difficult. Better to isolate the issue and solve the root problem.

If your fuel pump was bad, it wouldn’t start at all. What you might do, is remove the fuel pump and check the filter/screen for an obstruction, like rust.

got it i’ll take off the tank today and see. As for filling up new gas after draining the old one, do you suggest i try adding in some fuel stabilizer? or will just new fuel be good?

New fuel is all you need. If you find sludge or rust in the tank, let us know.
tank was clean, i drained the fuel and when i started the bike up i did smell some strong burning, but white smoke. Maybe bad gas burning smell? I’ll replace the fuel and try it again if the issue persists i think shop is the way to go

adding on to this, changed the fuel but still have same problems.
