Anyone done it? Doing it? Thinking about it?

I'm half trying to get a few old Navy mates together for it this year, but wouldn't mind some more general info from anyone who's been. Where's good to stay etc?

Wahoo! Threadnomancy be damned! Thought I'd just keep everything here, saves starting another thread.

The big day is Saturday next week, and I'll be travelling down on the Friday. I've finally figured out the best route. It gets me along Snakes Pass and The Cat and Fiddle in the same day, and should take me around six hours.

Leg one, Driffield to Sheffield to get me down into the peaks:

Leg two, Sheffield to Glossop, past Ladybower Reservoir then through Snake Pass:

Leg three, Glossop to Macclesfield:

Leg four, Macclesfield to Buxton along the Cat and Fiddle:

Then the last leg, heading south to the camp site at Drayton Manor:

Not sure about the way back yet, I might just bomb up the motorway and save some petrol! Lol.

Yeah, it's a good little instalation. Just uses little plastic pop rivets now, really tidy.

Nah, the front of the engines fine. I just haven't gotten around to buying a long skinny brush for getting in amongst the pipework yet, so it always looks rubbish! Lol

That was an epic weekend. Photos and video links to follow, once I've some battery on my phone.
