Hey 600riders,

I've been a little confused on how exactly the naming convention works for our bikes.
To my knowledge, the 2009 FZ6 I have is just that: a FZ6.
However, between different parts sites online I see
FZ6
FZ600
FZS600
FZ6 S2
FAZER
600 FAZER
and so on and so on.

Which of the different naming schemes mean the same thing and which ones refer to something different?

Thanks for the help!

If you have a 2009 you have a FZ6 S2

2007-2009: FZ6 S2 (Black engine, frame, new swingarm, 4 piston brake calipers, new gauge cluster etc.)
2004-2006: FZ6 S1 (Silver engine and frame except for 2006, old swingarm, 2 piston brake calipers, old style gauge cluster etc.)

These are the FZ6's as we know them in North America. I believe it was called the Fazer in European markets where it can have ABS and ignition disable
The FZ600, FZS600 are predecessors to our bikes, somewhere in the 90's till 2004.

Thanks for the info! and what about FZS6? Is FZS6 the same as the FZS600? Someone in another thread mentioned having a 2006 FZS6. Was it likely just a slip?
