Thank you!!

Pretty much boarded up... Seems so far, it'll hit between here and Sarasota.
It's going to be really, really close...

The storm surge seems to be one of the biggest concerns. The storm pushes water from the Gulf into the river and canals (which I'm on)..

Be safe everyone affected... Pic's to follow if I'm not under water... ;)

Scott, I remember your pics from the last big storm.

Yep, lost my sea wall then, (Irma, 2017). 50K to fix so that wasn't good... That'll be fine this time

I didn't take the boat canopy off, kinda want a new one (as it's lasted
twice it's suggested life), so we'll see what happens..

It's a howling now..

I'm to the left of Ft Myers...

It's almost a Cat 5 (155MPH) about 10 miles from here..
Almost a Cat 5 about 10 miles from here..

I've had to work in a hurricane. I actually got motion sickness from the constant wind buffeting and trying to stay upright.
Hold on to something sturdy....

When I was a senior in college, the eye of hurricane Gloria passed right over our campus. Most students were safe in brick building….me and my roommates were out playing in the storm. The fun ended when one of my friends fell, and started rolling away, and there was nothing we could do to get to him. After that we sought shelter in the brick buildings. I was running as hard as I could, and was moving just inches.

Tried calling Scott again and getting that same fast busy signal. He lives on one of those canals near the ocean where they said there could be up to 18 foot swells. I bet there are cell towers and antennas that are cattywomped from those winds. Scott, give us a ping! @TownsendsFJR1300

Cliff, my son just moved to Punta Gorda (just outside of Ft. Myers).....he can't make any calls out but can receive them (weird, huh) along with texts. He said service there is spotty at best.
I hope Scott is okay too, my son said that the storm surge was catastrophic.

Couldn't believe that surge! I've been inland on a few Hurricanes. Cant' imagine being near the ocean during a surge like that.
Hope you and family are doing well Brenda!

Brenda @lytehouse How is your son after this?
Where Scott lives there are all these canals that lead out to the ocean. I can't imagine the damage there. I'm trying his number now...... Fast busy signal.
I hope Scott's okay....

I hope you are all ok, those that were affected by Ian.
Was in New York a month or so after Sandy, mate of mine had to couch surf for nearly two years before he could move home again, he was in Rockaway, The surge flooded his two story condo up about 5 feet. Sincerely glad we don't get weather that severe here in Melbourne. we just have other stuff like snakes n spiders
