In the beginning there was this:

My 2009 Yamaha FZ6, named Freyja (license will come, whenever the name frees up. :disapprove:

I was smart enough to know doing everything at once was a bad idea...

...but I was also impatient and stubborn enough to do it anyway.)

And here's where I am currently:

Took it out for the first time this weekend. It sound BEAUTIFUL and handles/takes off equally so (and this is without everything being completely dialed in).
My next post tomorrow will have the big list of my lessons learned and more about the story, hope you enjoy the first installment!

Here's what I've done with it so far (the airbox, ECU, and air filter had been done already before the rest):
  • R6 Forks
  • R6 Headers, ceramic coated
  • Shorty GP Exhaust
  • Ohlins rear shock (spring powdercoated neon green)
  • Hel stainless brake lines
  • Galfer front and rear brake pads
  • Powdercoated upper triple tree
  • FZ1 bars, powdercoated
  • Powdercoated radiator side covers
  • ECUnleashed remapped ECU
  • Airbox Mod
  • K&N Air Filter
  • Removed front fairing, passenger pegs, and center stand

Immediately up next:
  • Getting the bike in to have a professional dial in my suspension settings for me
  • GSXR K4 Headlight with KMP fairing (it's in the mail right now on the way over)
  • NGK Iridium spark plugs (with me now)
  • TCP Seat Cowl (also in the mail right now)
  • Neon green radiator tubes (also in in mail)
  • Neon Green Wire wraps to rewrap some of the wires (have them now)
  • Black and green levers (also in mail)
  • Wiring harness for headlight and speedo (which I accidentally sold... so now I need a new one)
  • A mounting solution for speedo on the bars
  • Figuring out what to do with the tail/how to make it look not ****ty
  • Rearview mirrors
  • Figure out a way to secure the rear portion of the headers so that it's not resting solely on the header bolts
  • CLEAN IT!

Down the road:
  • Blacked-out rearsets (I'd say Ottimoto, but they don't seem to be around anymore) *this one is the first up after the immediates, after this no order*
  • Yamaha Belly Pan
  • Bi-Xenon/LED headlight upgrade
  • Power Commander
  • Motodynamic tail light
  • Top Sellerie seats
  • Sprocket/chain upgrade (-1,+2)
  • Blacked-out gas cap
  • Lightweight battery
  • Some sexy grips
  • Some Throttlemeisters
  • Galfer rotors
  • Powdercoating (black)/anodizing (black/and green tape for the tube on the rest of the Ohlins shock

WOW thats a deep dive into its sole fixing the oem weaknesses! Good job!

Tell us more about the ECU Unleashed.... If done right your map should be pretty close but may need some tweaks.
Is it fair to say the throttle response & throttle chop have improved significantly over stock? Does it pull the nose up in 2nd???

If they corrected the ignition advance in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd it should be pretty lively!!!!

Did they telll you exactly what was done or just the blanket marketing statement?
Thanks in advance!!!
