So I was going nuts not riding for a few days and who cares if it was 26 degrees out.

I put on the heated gear, yea I know that is cheating, and headed for the hills. I was actually surprised at the amount of snow up there already.

Found some twistys.

You can't see it in the pictures but it was snowing fairly good in them that hills.

Even boulder Creek was a little chilly.

So that is how I spent my morning. It was refreshing to get out.

Note to self, don't put a 7.5 amp fuse in line with all the heated gear. 15 works so much better. DAMHIK: :D

It's because you drive on the wrong side of the road.

I am just kidding you.

This is a good and fairly normal day in the mountains here in Colorado during the spring and fall.

Here was three weeks ago up on Squaw pass. Now that was a fun day. OK so I'm a little nuts.

Yeah we're spoiled here in SoCal. It is a little different feeling riding in the cold and it looked like you were getting flurries!
Thanks for the pics!

I don't mind riding in the cold, but snow on the road makes me take the bus.

... And last night I was getting cold!!!!!!!!!

Temperature should have been probably in the low 50'sF (maybe!!!). I only had mesh jacket, with the liner, and a light sweeter underneath.

I have no "winter" riding gear...

Great pics lomax, I have been out in some 40 deg weather down here in Abq and south in the mountains but nothing colder yet. I take it that the FZ6 can handle the amps of heated gear and the GPS? Are you using a heated jacket and gloves?

It did seem to work out just fine. I had on my heated jacket, pants, and gloves and was running the GPS. No issues. Well there was one.

When I first headed out I had a 7.5 amp fuse in my pig tail. DOH not enough for all that stuff. I came back home and put in a 15 amp and it was fine.

I did not have the guts to turn on my heated grips at the same time however. :D

It did get downward of about 23 degrees at the highest elevation but I did keep warm.

I get a lot more air on the FZ than I do on my RT but it is a blast to ride.

Yeppers, The wind was blowing in gusts up to 50mph up on that hill and it made it a bit difficult to ride in some places. I never did actually tip over at least.

We only got up into the high 50's today and I wussied out and did some brake maintenance instead of riding because it wasn't warm enough. :spank:
Thanks for the pics though.

:shakehead: You guys crack me up. I am a feeble 57 year old fart and have just been doing this for most of my life. And 50 deg is shirt sleeve weather. :D

Thanks for the thought however. May we all have MANY more years in the saddle.

Yeah, I pulled all the liners out of my mesh when it hit 50F yesterday. Just the mesh and long sleeve t.

My mesh jacket with all the liners in is actually warmer than my leathers. But I can't drive the truck unless the weather is horrible. (14mpg Highway  ) So when it was 36 and raining hard enough to make you think "tropical storm", I was out freezing my nuts off. Cause that's the only place my waterproof pants aren't so waterproof.

Saturday I went down to the BMW dealer to pick up some keys for the luggage that had to be ordered from Germany. 200 miles later I got home. It was a beautiful day.
