First we get snow.... all of us put our bikes away...
and now we get the fricking sun back for 4 days and there is no more snow :(
what's up with mother nature ??? Is it her time of the month ?

Idk, if this is global warming then I love it! No way did I think I'd be riding during the 1st week of November, at least without being all bundled up! Supposed to get near 70 today! :cheer::cheer::cheer:

:Flip: to those posts about it being warm all winter long where they live. :D

I hear ya. If I get done painting the new house early enough, I may just have to go for a ride. Gotta get the painting done first.

Jealous! I plan on riding through the entire winter! Bwahahahahahah!:Sport:

OH, and watch out for those glaciers!

Mother nature is a Bit-- sometimes, but you should never put the bike away until you are positive that you are done for the year. I am not putting her away until at least Dec.

Umm, am suposed to remove the batery tomorow, but i am realy thinking about waiting a bit more and keep on riding till snow is here for good :)

The thing is i dont see many riders anymore and its discouraging :(

Last night, i was waiting for the bus to go to class, saw a guy on his GS1200 pass by me, i rush back up, get my keys and helmet, and ride to school :)
I felt so good :-D

PS: all you guys that can ride all year around i would like to say something :Flip:

Yeah, I grew up just down I-4 from you in Tampa. Sure wish I was riding back then to take advantage of the year round riding season. I'll be back though, FL is where my heart is for sure.

Oh and it's not so much the glaciers that will get you as the Arctic wind. :Flip: :D

I hear ya... two weeks ago I was frantically trying to scrape up some extra funds for warmer gear. I got a pair of winter gloves and haven't worn them but once. Today I wore my mesh jacket with rain liner over a dress shirt and was warm.

But I tell you what I now hate the daylight savings time change more than the temparture. Last night had to ride in dark and rain for the first time.

I've been there! But my mesh jacket and rain liner combo only works well in the sun.:D

Mine is still ready to ride, yet away for the winter? Let me explain: It is full of stabil-enhanced fuel and plugged into the battery tender yet it is parked in the middle of the garage between the two cages so it's easy enough to unplug and ride away, then return and plug in. I also have a 5 gal. can of gas treated with stabil that I can top the bikes off with should we ride them.

My issues is, I work 9am to 6pm. While a ride to work this time of year is great, the ride home can be VERY cold by the time I leave and get home.

*sigh* I thought I was sure. Then it hit 20c yesterday and 18c today.3 days after it went away for the winter.

oh come on, cry me a river ;) i work 8:30-5:30 and i have a 1 hour each commute and i still ride every day that it isn't supposed to rain.

Cold is one thing
Rain is one thing
But both is scary stuff in NE in November

Now I KNEW you'd have a sly remark! :rof:

Actually, what I need is better cold gear. I'm considering the FirstGear Kilimanjaro (FirstGear FirstGear Kilimanjaro 5.0 Texile Motorcycle Jacket :: New Enough, LTD) and better pants since the Tex Mesh II *shouldn't* suffice for extreme cold.

My current jacket, while good for down to about 45 degrees? It's a well fitted jacket that I can't layer underneath.

Time for the cold gear... then I can bring the bike out much earlier in the spring. For now, though, money is being spent on house projects and the bike/gear has taken a back-seat. :(

To each their own... ;) it looks like i will be sitting the rest of the week in the car since it is looking like rain... but my cold weather geat is simple but seems to be sufficient. I put the liner into my textile jacket put on my snowmobile gloves and toss some EMS rain pants on. when it gets below 35 i also wear a Balacalava (probably spelled very wrong) but it works wonders!!!

My next article of clothing is some proper pants, my knees get cold when it is down to 20ish...
