Rock killed my radiator fan

Internally is what counts.

As I re-call, reading on this forum, when the fan jambs up and then activates, it burns out
the windings to the motor itself (internally). There should be a retainer to the actual fan and access gained to the motor itself.
This it?

I had a member send me their fan to look at and after working to get the melted brush assembly working I was able to get it to operated intermittently. There was a short on one or more of the windings through the hub of the motor. The motor is a really cool design but unfortunately once they have been shorted they have gone through a high heat scenario that generally melts and destroys internal insulation at the hub which renders the motor as unreliable any more.
