thanks. i stripped it & clear coated it... but then it got surface rust in a few weeks. so i had it powdercoated in "super chrome" which is like a polished aluminum look :thumbup:

working on a speedo mount. will bolt to the tank mounts and also gonna vhb it

trying to figure out my fuel/evap hoses since its been a few years since i took them off

also cut a plate for the cross bar on the tail, i will mount the brake light and seat to it. i broke 2 bits and a bolt sheared trying to tap the subframe out, but its finished now. i almost want to ride it just like this:

been busy working on stuff for an art show in SF, so not much progress.

but i did send my steering stems/triples with a buddy to press them out for me. now for the swap the fz6 stem is ever so slightly smaller than the r6 triple, i think i' going to dril a small hole through both and run a nut/bolt to keep it snug

now i'm trying to decide, paint them both black... silver, or leave it

My keys went through the paint fast so I powder coated them black!

I'd go black but that's just me... PS - you might look at the Turbo build thread for tossing stops on the triple and beefing up the bar mounts.

thanks. plan is to use a nut/bolt for the steering stops, and rise bar mounts... i might move the ignition somewhere else too


also, what turbo thread are you talking about? i'm not on these forums much since i havent ridden my fz6 in years..
