I haven't had mine get hung up in neutral. It usually happens when I'm engine braking. I think the last time it went from 4th to 2nd.
I'll try changing the oil.
Has anyone experienced a double down shift? I've had my FZ since January and it's happened to me three times now.
What happens is that I intend to drop one gear, and end up going down two gears instead. I can't completely rule out the possibility that I'm hitting the gear lever twice...
Two of the easiest things a rider can do to significantly reduce his or her risk of serious injury or death while riding are:
1. Wear a helmet.
2. Don't drink and ride.
Ride safe!
I've got liability, comp & collision, uninsured & underinsured motorist, and roadside assistance, all for $452/year through Progressive.
Last year my cruiser cost $210/year for the same package, but it was an older, less valuable bike.
Ok, so I had my first real ride on the FZ6 yesterday. I rode it home from the dealership last Saturday, but it was too cold to do much highway riding. Yesterday it was about 55 degrees F, and sunny, so I got in about 90 miles in the afternoon. My first impressions are below.
My last bike...
Thanks! I know the Matris mod is an improvement, but having previously ridden a cruiser I don't have a frame of reference for comparing the Matris setup with the stock shocks on the FZ. Given your reaction, I'll assume the improvement is substantial
So, my pre-owned 2007 FZ6 came with some existing mods: a set of frame sliders that I can't identify, and a Matris preload kit for the front forks.
Has anyone seen or used these sliders? Are they any good?
Same questions for the Matris stuff. Also, how should I go about adjusting them...
I bought an '07 FZ6 in blue last weekend, picked it up yesterday. So far it's a blast. I'm looking forward to lots of riding this spring! Pictures below.
Hello everyone. Thanks for all the great feedback. Just to let you know, I bought a blue 2007 FZ6 today! :)
I found a good deal on a used one at a dealership about 60 miles from where I live. I've still got to get it insured, so I won't pick it up until next weekend, but I'll let everyone...
Thanks for all the feedback! That's a lot of great information.
I have to say I'm leaning towards the FZ6, especially after the comment about the FZ6 having a more comfortable, upright riding position than the SV650. Comfort is high on my list of criteria. I've sat on both bikes at...
Hello everyone,
I know this is kind of vague, but I'm looking for some general info regarding what to expect from an FZ6. I'll explain more below.
I rode a Suzuki VS800GL Intruder (my first bike) from September of 2007 through October of 2008. I put about 5000 miles on it, and now I'm...
Hello, my name is Brian and I live in Arkansas. I'm using this forum to research my next (2nd) bike purchase. Thanks to all of you for putting so much good information about the FZ6 online.
