New profile posts

Hi guys I'm new to the group. I have just started my 08 fazer up first time for a couple of months. I let it run for a while and as stated in other posts, it started spewing the coolant out of a breather pipe. Need to look at the fanswitch, fan and water pump. Just wondering where do you guys get your parts from in the UK please? Cheers K
Looking at my FZ6 after a while. Need a road worthy certificate in Victoria Australia.
Change after market muffler to something big and fat. Thinking about lowering the footpegs for a bit more leg space.

Hi fazil, sorry to reply 4 months late. I don't get email alerts on profile posts.

Here is the 3rd timing chain guide I was talking about. It attaches to the underside of the cam cover. Open the link below and check (no. 15)
Yamaha part number is 5BE-12241-01-00

I seen a post you made on a different thread about being able to get a manual for a bike I was going to see if by chance you didn't have anything on a 2009 FZ6R because I'm running into a intermittent code 19 and I currently have my side stand switch tied up without any pressure being put on the harness or any wires and still running into the issue as well as trying to figure out a charging issue
You wouldnt happen to have any mounts for the rounds speedos or can get them made would you? I know its been a few years lol.
I seem to have a lag between throttle response and when chain gets power or tension. It felt like a loose chain slack but that is not the case. It makes for jerky shifting at lower power “ just cruising” speeds. Not sure how much slack in transmission is acceptable. I turn the wheel in gear on the stand and has quite a bit of rotation between forward and reverse rotation.
Hi guys! Purchased a 06
fz6 a few days ago for cheap (wrecked) . Overall it’s not too bad but needs a few things .Looking for a gas tank!
I bought a 2005 wrecked bike. Basically cosmetic damage. I needed a speedometer and headlight so I went with the 2007 S2 and have gotten the wire harness spliced and works. Will the speedometer bracket for the 2007 work on the 2005’s front forks to mount the headlight? I don’t believe they changed out the forks between years.
Hope you and the family are doing great! Saw the forum is locked and I'll assume your fixing or upgrading. Pretty quiet these days except a few signups that get pushed to the approval que.
Thank you for keep out forum alive!

Yup gotta do the updates. I remember then the site had thousands of visits per day.
Recently (Sept 21) retired. Riding 'til I can't throw a leg over the seat, then going for a 3-wheeler, but not quite ready for that.

My FZ6N is a going concern. Very good. It's a little small for me so I'm about to lower the footpegs, raise the bars and probably fit a fairing of some sort.
Thanks for having me.
So my 2008 FZ6S has 70k on it and the engine runs tight the only issue I have is the clutch is a little noisy when released, quieter when the clutch is operated to select the gear.
Other than that the clutch works perfectly fine with no slip and full engagement.
I'm thinking it's time to start thinking about a new clutch kit, what is your advice please
Kind regards Robert

Hi Norbill, I think you clutch is fine. When it is released in Neutral the gearbox is idling and the gears are turning. That is the sound you hear. When you pull in the clutch lever the gearbox is disengaged ie. the gears have stopped going around.and the sound goes away. The cause is probably gearbox bearings. I wouldn't be very concerned unless it is bad bad. RayO

I am thoroughly impressed with the high mileage and reliability of Yamaha.
Chris, I saw on Facebook that you are organizing a ride at HawksNest the week of July 21. Is that open to just MSTA members?
Looking for a complete (with clamps and springs) centre stand in Australia FZ6 “2007” 0411243412
helping your hands on a long ride. I just installed the bar ends from H.V.M.P. on my 2008 FZ6S1. I believe these will cut down vibration and they look nice as well.
