Holy thread revival batman!
Lurking as I have an issue with a coolant leak from one of the hoses from the coolant pump (lower right side). There's a steel pipe which T's off just below the coolant reservoir which on mine has turned to rust. Might be the culprit for you OP?
Quite like the painted Grille edges.
Snap!
Rizoma Dynamic clone mirrors = awesome. They've got convex blue tinted glass just like the real thing and no vibes.
If you're after indicators I'd recommend the genuine Yamaha ones. They're a bit dearer than others but they're really well...
We have both systems in the uk, depending on when it was installed. The ones on a timer are older and really inefficient and are gradually being replaced by the magnetic ones. Never had a problem in 7 years driving.
I remember setting a magnetic one off while sat in a shopping trolley on a...
I bought the same FE from him just last week, it wasn't until it was too late I realised I needed aftermarket indicators as well :( and I didn't see that auction with the indicators included either! Dammit.
Anyway, nice seller, he makes them himself and they're good quality. Recommended.
You'll probably get emulsion buildup in the crankcase since your engine will barely get warm. A good hoon every other sunday should clear it. It would be good to keep your oil changes frequent as well, at least annually even if you've only done 1,000 miles.
I picked up these ones, a bit more expensive than others on offer but still a fraction of the price of Pazzos.
MC Long CNC Adjustable Brake Clutch Levers Fit FZ6 FAZER 04-09 10 11 12 13 14 | eBay
When they arrived (less than a week later) I was amazed at the quality, they fitted well and...
Lovely pipes. I imagine due to the oval shape they're not designed to be rotated? I can't help thinking they would look awesome if the embossed 'S' logos on the end caps were the right way up and the tips pointed backwards rather than outwards. Maybe that's just my OCD brain :tard:
212 Fahrenheit is the boiling point of water in atmosphere (100°C)
Pressurized coolant can exceed that temperature considerably without boiling, but most vehicles will get to 100°C (212°F) before the fan switches on anyway, and switches off when it reaches 93°C or so.
Quick review after a ride: They're small but they don't vibrate anywhere in the rev range when I looked which makes them 10x better than bigger ones that do vibrate, this includes the silver stock ones that came with the bike. If your ones from amazon don't work out then I definitely recommend...
MC Motoparts on ebay. I imagine you'll need seperate adapters if you're fitting them to a faired fazer.
Here's the USA link for the mirrors, and if you search 'dynamic cnc adapters' on ebay they list a whole load of adapters for different bikes.
Rizoma Dynamic clones
I was expecting the mirror housings to be plastic but they're solid metal, well made and really sturdy. I'm sure they'll vibrate no more than the bars do which is the best you can ask for with an FZ6
Blue lens tint and slightly convex mirror...
I would do mate but there's a pretty big ocean between us :D It'd probably cost me more in postage than if you just bought a new set off Ebay. They also vibrate a lot (moreso than the stock ones) so just trying something else.
Nice bike Flash, that headlight looks mean!
I'm new here too and picked up an FZ6 as my first bike. :welcome:
Agreed about the mods, it's all stuff you'd probably end up buying anyway. Pazzo levers too!
Depending on the brand of the heated grips you can probably buy a new control unit for it, solves 99% of problems and saves...
