I read the same things and was nervous getting the FZ6 as a starting bike. However, I come from a dirtbike racing background, rode dirtbikes since I could walk, and the FZ6 is fine.
If you ever rode anything with two wheels, you'll be fine, just respect it.
If you haven't ever rode any type...
Can you post a pic of the stainless? I have seen the pic of the new type in Carbon and would like to see in stainless as well. Trying to see if it is worth the extra to get carbon. Right now I am thinking it is not.

I am 29 with clean record as well. I am at about $280/yr with American Family. That's with 100k/300k coverage.
I got a similar quote from Progressive of over $800
I am with American Family, and my 08 FZ6 costs me around $300 a year. This is my first bike.
My buddy also bought a used 06 FZ6 and went with same company. His is just a little over $200 a year. These are both for full coverage.
I am around 30 years old.
I would almost certainly say it will not.
My understanding is that it just adjusts the input signal to the speedo. If the speedo doesn't have the capability now to convert that signal into KPH and MPH, then I don't see how modifying that signal will give it that ability.

What is the OEM style fairing for the 07-08 you were refering to, do you have a link or is it from the same manufacturer?
I have a black 08 and I liked the all black with the full fairing.
I'm a noob as well, and I was riding in as low of RPM as possible, as I figured I'd be getting better gas mileage.
I understand the concept of being able to react quicker and it made sense, so I have been trying to ride a little higher in the RPM range.
I definately agree that starting around...
I have been kind of disappointed in my 2008 F-Trip.
I have filled my tank 3 times since getting the bike.
The first time I went 10 mile on F-Trip, and the only put 3.8 gallons in the bike.
The second time I went 30 miles and put 4.0 in the tank.
The third time I went 60 miles and put 4.3...
I am certainly a noob, only had my bike for a week.
However, I have rode and raced dirtbikes since I was about 4 years old.
I was nervous after reading some posts on this forum about the FZ6 not being a bike for beginners. Not sure if that only applies to beginners on two wheels, or...
