    which fz6 do i have ?

There were several trim levels of FZ6 sold overseas, but only one sold in the US. Yours has had the fairing removed, the headlights changed and an aftermarket exhaust put on. Looks pretty slick!! Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2

Did i overheat and damage my first bike 05 fz6??

We are all in violent agreement here... The fact is that when you shut off the engine the heat balance that was maintained by the moving coolant is lost, and everything converges to a single temperature. The hottest parts, IE the combustion chamber, continue flowing heat outwards and the end...

Did i overheat and damage my first bike 05 fz6??

Yes, but the net result is the temperature of the entire engine goes up first, then down. That's all I was saying. Regardless, the op certainly didn't do any damage to his engine. They are designed with huge factors of safety and thw heat soak effect taken into account. Sent from my MB860...

OK, I give up; help me start my FZ6

Oil doesn't conduct. That won't cause your problem. Doesn't mean the starter isn't borked, but oil is not ionic and will not conduct electricity. I would still say you should have tried the battery first... Sent from my MB860 using Tapatalk

Did i overheat and damage my first bike 05 fz6??

No it doesn't. Go warm up your bike and then shut it off hot. Turn the ignition back on after a minute and tell me it's cooler. Liquid cooled engines heat up before cooling off after shutting down. Sent from my MB860 using Tapatalk

    Almost biffed it just now...

Good advice, but this *particular* oil slick was so spectacular that it covered the ENTIRE LANE. I thought I was safe being in the left track, but I most certainly was not! And definitely a good point RE: the horn. I need to start using it more... I'm still in the habit of honking like when...

    Almost biffed it just now...

Hey everyone, thought I'd recount my near-miss experience, along with a positive one. I apologize in advance for the wordiness.. A little history about myself: I'm a 23 YO new rider with an 09. I've been riding for almost 2 months, and around 2700 miles (bought the bike brand new) Well I was...

Michelin Pilot Road 3 are here!!!!!!

Agree with what the others here have posted... Shut the f**k up and call your lawyer. Without a satisfactory response from Michelin here my next tire will be a BT023 and NOT a PR3 like I originally planned...

    New Rider With a Confession

The price was only missing a ~200 "setup fee" (which was BS, but it is what it is). After TTL and assorted fees, I was out ~6700. The dealer said that the only way they could sell it for so cheap was because it was purchased in a bankruptcy sale from another dealership that went under. I shopped...

    New Rider With a Confession

Hey guys! So I rode myself to work yesterday and today... all I can say is YES. GOD YES. I've never loved waking up at 5am more than when I know I'll be riding for an HOUR before I even show up at work (early) and then do work (that doesn't feel like work -- I love my job) then chug a cup of...

    New Rider With a Confession

Hey everyone, thought you might be interested in an update. I currently have 260 miles! Cleaned and lubed my chain the other day because it looked like the dealer delivered it lubed with road tar :spank: Also, had my first *incident*. I was parking, running late because I was out riding too...

Really? I feel older than dirt. Doesn't help that my girlfriend is 20 so I have to ask her to walk to the other side of the walmart every time I want beer..

Haha I wish I was still a kid. 23 and counting... :( Thanks for all the responses & advise everyone! Damn I wish it would STOP RAINING. The forecast said it was going to be clear tomorrow (I work 4 10's, which to me means Fridays are open for riding all day instead of working) but now it...

Grand Blanc is just east of Flint MI. That is, east enough to dodge the bullets, but not so east that we're near imlay city or port huron. How would you guys suggest polishing the pipes? Mother's metal polish, a powerball and a drill?

    New Rider With a Confession

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! I hope to be on this forum as often as possible. Lefty: ATGATT FTW! Even if I'm riding in my parking lot. You can skin an elbow by walking, let alone straddling a 95 hp motor. Plus, you can grin like a ritard inside your helmet and nobody will call the...
