I highly doubt it's the HG mate. Mine does have random small bubbles when i rev it hard with the radiator cap off probably from the liquid sloshing around in the rad. I believe if you have the red key, you can get just a new ecu without changing the locks. Yamaha should be able to program your red key to run with the new ecu.
