    My Winter Project

This is awesome. I really like how the bike is more up to date without looking out of place. It looks correct. Someone unfamiliar with the bike could easily be convinced that it came this way from the factory.

    suspension improvement and adjustment

I didn't mean damping, but I see where I misused the term compression in this context. Good to know, I'll try them out.

    suspension improvement and adjustment

Anybody use the machined aluminum caps with the threaded compression adjustment that you can find on eBay and other places? Not sure I even need them, but I have some I may install someday.

    My Winter Project

You're making great time. It would seriously take me a year to do that amount of work. I've been wanting a project bike lately but just haven't come across anything I like for cheap. The older bikes that used to be so plentiful are getting harder to find and more expensive.

    My Winter Project

The only carbureted bike I rebuilt was a 2-stroke single. It was very satisfying to do, and for the first time I finally understood how a carb works. I kind of want to do a multi-cylinder 4-stroke carbureted bike at some point.

    Power Commander III Installation

Yeah, Had I started this thread 10 years ago (I didn't have an FZ6 at that time), it may have been a very different discussion. Anyway, I did choose not to install the power commander. I returned the de-cat pipe I bought as well. The Delkevic slip-ons are damn loud even with the baffles in...

    fuel pump re-install

I know you're partly joking, but I would like to shine them up a bit more. They aren't corroded or dirty, but they are discolored. I'm not sure what else I can do for them.

    fuel pump re-install

I pieced the cockpit together individually. The screen is puig if I remember correctly. I modified the guage cluster fairing to fit. I don't like how far the cans extend either. I might be able to trim an inch or so from the y-pipe outlets to bring them in a bit. It looks a little tighter...

    fuel pump re-install

Thanks gentleman! I already installed with the old gasket, so hopefully it holds. I hate the thought of removing the fuel pump again; that is one of the worst jobs. I made an ordered list of all of the tasks I want to perform on the bike this winter. I should have done that before...

    fuel pump re-install

I need to get myself a FSM for the bike... While I look around the internet, I thought I'd ask here as well: Should the bolts that hold the fuel pump in be installed with a thread lock compound? It had been awhile since I removed them, so I don't recall. They hold an aluminum ring which...

    Main ignition switch

Looking good. I like those tank pads, and will probably look for some like that myself. I'll certainly post some pictures when I get it back together. Fingers crossed no gremlins have been at work in the meantime, and everything works as expected. It was running flawlessly when...

    Main ignition switch

Amazing... right after posting I was seriously considering having to part out this bike when came across the key! I had carefully packed it away along with the gas cap. That makes sense, because removing the tank and removing the cap from the tank would have been the last thing I did with the...

    Main ignition switch

For reasons that would take too long to explain, I haven't ridden my FZ6 for a long time. I never re-assembled it after having it painted because of the aforementioned reasons, and the fact that I lost the key while it was apart. I've since moved to a new house, and the key never turned up in...

This is amazing... almost makes me want to tackle another project... almost.

    Paint

$627 USD. I did the sanding which knocked a couple hours off of the job.
