There are like 8 screws and a gasket but it is not sealed/glued shut. There are no vents either besides some open space around the plug. Changing the housing is really easy, disassembly of the fairing takes longer.

Thank you two for the suggestions. I did check the connectors for corrosion and dirt but they do look clean. However, I will try cleaning them, using WD40 contact cleaner and dielectric grease next. Tinkering on the pcb will be my last resort, to get to the connector you have to desolder the lcd...
