There is a product called Oil Eater that can be purchased at various locations, but I get mine at Pep Boys. It comes in a concentrated spray bottle. You can dilute with water to a 50/50 mix and ue it on your bike's engine, wheels, etc. YOUR ENGINE MUST BE COLD, or damage can occur. If used on a...
Sorry to act like a noob, but in one of the pics of the rear brake procedure, there is a tube with BREMBO on it. Did you add that as an aftermarket part? I wasn't aware that the FZ6 came with any BREMBO componets. Thanks.

I like the gold forks with the gold wheels. Makes it look a little Ducati like, and breaks up the black-on-balck-on-black that is so common nowadays. I hope the suspension is adjustable, and I really, REALLY miss the underseat exhaust. In my opinion, that was the defining trait of the FZ6...
I'm dissapointed. How is this any different than a FZ1? 200cc displacement less? That's all? Compared to the FZ6, we gain 200cc displacement, inverted front fork, and adjustable suspension. We loose the underseat exhaust - the one defining trait of the FZ6. Looks like the answer to the question...
Congrats. After I moved to Houston in 2006, all I wanted to do was leave! Sounds like a great company and a great position. Be thankful you have this opportunity....don't worry about your old boss. Again, congratulations.
Actually, I think Yamaha would bring the TDM to the states if enough interest was shown. The bike is completely available in Europe, and would only require a little emmissions testing before it was imported to the States. With the economy in the shape it is, I think Yamaha would be wise to look...
Did you get these in store or online? My local Advance said they didn't carry bike plugs, and a special order would negate the sale price? I think the guy is high.
I know this is an older thread, but thanks for the review! I've long hoped we get the TDM in the USA. It was sold here from 1992-1993, but it was ahead of it's time and the public didn't know what to do with it. Even though it's no FZ6, I think it would do well selling to those who want the FZ6...
It's one of those bikes that's a tool for daily use for all types of riding. The anti-Harley if you will. The guys that have the '91-'92 models that were sold in the USA absolutly love them. They are quite rare.
The TDM is an awesome bike. It didn't sell well the 2 years it was offered in the US ('91-'92) but is still sold all over the world. Call Yamaha USA and tell them you want them to see it in the USA again. If enough people are interested, they WILL bring it over here again. Here is the Yamaha USA...
Yep. Exactly what I was gonna say. Get yourself a 2007 FZ6, or slightly used Wee-Strom and save a bundle of cash. Both bikes will serve you well, but you may also want to consider the Kawasaki Versys, or the Ducati Multistrada 620. Both of those can be had used for less than $5,000 and are very...
Other thant the fact that WE WANT IT IN THE US, do you guys think it makes business sense? It's basically a FZ-1 with a (apparently) sleeved motor. Other than the name, it doesn't even look like an FZ6.
