I have recorded the values. I dropped them both to -7 and removed the air filter. Took it for a ride for about 10 klm I can still smell something but it does not appear as bad. Or maybe I really don't know after a short run, haha.
I love the sound of the air box sucking in air when the air...
I just checked my CO settings
C1 -7
C2. 15
I am. It able to access C3 & C4 unless I am doing something wrong.
Maybe I should play around with these values? Is it increase the number for less fuel?
Ok, will do. So you think even it it looks ok it could be blocked and the result is a richer fuel mix? Sounds plausible, will try it over the weekend, cheers.
Hi guys, I have an 06 FZ6S with 68,000 klm. It seems to be running very rich, blows a little smoke and stinks.
Is there an FZ6 expert in Sydney, really want to avoid the dealers, cheers.
Thanks to all for taking the time to read my post and reply.
There are lots of could be's and maybe's, it's a pain in the arse.
Still looking for someone in Sydney who is a gun on this model, really trying to steer clear of the dealers as I know I will spend a fortune there.
I rode to...
Hi guys. So, I picked up a new to me 2006 FZ6 a few weeks back and have noticed it runs rich. Other do not seem to mind it that much but I am finding that I am sensitive to it, to the point that I sometimes shut the engine down at stops as I can not stand the sickly smell blowing over me. It...
I am going to start another thread about running rich. I went back to the dealers today and after about 15 minutes riding of course the bike behaved itself at the dealers, lol.
We revved it with some white paper at the exh outlets, no black spots. So, I am thinking it is simply running rich...
I had a few throttle binding issues, firstly, the handlebars are rusted underneath the throttle tube so I cleaned and greased that. Next issue was that the butterfly's were seized and I could not move them. I started the engine and then shut it down, the butterfly's were then magically unseized...
The binding is resolved, throttle is smooth and the throttle tube is well lubed and springs back quickly now.
I have changed the plugs for new NGK CR9EK. The old plugs looked ok, just a bit dark indicating that the fuel system is running rich. I also drained the tank, looked clean. I did not...
Ok, nice info on adjusting the rear brake, was not sure if I could make adjustments at the shaft, will do that and be mindful of the brake switch, if it needs adjustment.
I had to adjust the rear brake pedal higher, real PITA, slid the rear out twice today using the rear, damn there is no...
Really appreciate the in depth and prompt responses Scott & others!
Ok, here are my updates:
Rang the selling dealer about binding carby butterfly's, I decided to start the engine to see if the carby was stuck shut or open, fortunately open, bike idled. Shut down and the carby butterfly...
Oh well, there is definately something amiss here. I will drop int a Yamaha dealer and ask them to have a look.
On another note, do these bikes generally run rich? When I start her up it blows a bit of smoke and I can smell the rich fuel smell even after it has had a run.
