Need route advice, Toronto to Denver, and???

I agree with lone, as of late i have been thinking about a summer trip for next year. The idea of pointing in a direction and riding is sounding more and more exciting. I was thinking of taking ten days and just riding I did a car road trip along those lines quite a few years ago and I saw more...

    Caladin's 2010 trip: Arctic bound

That is a great amazing adventure, I grew up in northern BC and I have been to a few of the places you went through. It was nice to see some of the places and it makes me miss all of the ones i remember. That is an amazing trek in a car, on a bike I can only imagine how amazing it would be...

    Honda VFR 800

I was wondering about doing maintenance, so far this is just a far flung idea I am not sure just yet. Valves were don, but they do cost about $900 to have them done, so i guess that is something to keep in mind. They also had a Triumph Daytona (the limited one, white and blue so nice) but...

peoples thoughts on the fz8 after seeing one in a show room??

I saw one in the showroom last week, not bad but I am not sure if it is worth the upgrade. The dealer said there was some interest in it, but the FZ6R he had in the showroom had more interest according to him. When i saw one in the flesh, so to speak the pipe is really cheesy looking, but the...

No shirt, check no helmet, check, shorts check...

I am curious about the laws in some of the states, the no helmet/no gear law does that mean you dont have to take a MSC when you get your license ? As far as i am aware in order to take the class you have to have full gear, i had to go get a different pair of boots as the ones I had were not...

Woo hoo back in the saddle

just a quick note, street bikes and mud .... interesting to say the least. The city redid my alley and I made a wonderful choice to ride down it, nice reminder on clutch control and rear brake use.

Woo hoo back in the saddle

So I ended up finding a bike off of craiglist, a big thanks to everyone here who explained the details on bringing a bike into canada from the US. It was alot easier than i thought it would be. Pretty happy right now, new job, new bike :D:D:D:D Life is looking good again

    Icbc

Thanks that helps, and insurance seems cheaper out there than here. I will be getting a bike out there when I move, my bike was smashed (in BC how is that for funny) and when i came back to SK i ended up being out of work. As for where in BC, that we are unsure of as of yet, being born and...

    Icbc

yes it is looking like it is impossible to get a quote from ICBC, I was just trying to figure out costs for my upcoming move back to BC. It seems a little odd that backwater SK has an online application that will give you a quote for insurance and yet ICBC doesnt have one. No matter figure it...

    Icbc

Seems hard to figure out, does anyone know where in the world i can get an online quote from these chuckleheads. I am still currently in SK, and even here in backwards SK i can go online and get a quick quote for insurance. Seems not to be the case for BC. I was paying about 1200 per year...

    bike stolen today!!!

+1 on declining the first offer, insurance companies try and get you to take the lowest offer to save money. Good luck, that really sucks i would recommend doing some leg work your self and starting looking at used FZ6's in the area and what they are selling for. You will more than likely...

Moving to Chicago.... keep my fz6?

it is up to you, but i would bring it. I have been to both cities and although you will now experience winters unlike anything you have ever seen before ... bring the bike. Chicago is a great city and you will regret not having your bike living there.

    Slipperly Seat vs. Sticky Seat

I had my seat armor-alled once that makes it really slippery. Cornering takes an extra level of excitement when your butt slides around, but when i cleaned it all off it was really sticky and I wasn't to keen on that either, I would be more towards the middle of the road some grab in the seat...
