    New Owner Questions

That's what the "Get Map" button will do. You can pull the current map and see how it was set, then save it if you decide to change it. The software is actually pretty nice.

    New Owner Questions

I thought I commented on this topic, but I think I might have posted in another and lost it... To reiterate a post I've made before, you can send maps to the power commander with the bike ON. This means all you need is the USB cable and a laptop to take into the garage. The 10 pin connector you...

How do you prepare for a new riding season?

It hasn't been mentioned so I'll throw it out there, but make sure things like throttle cable tension and clutch cable actuation are all well adjusted. Mine were out of whack and the bike rides way better now.

    Homemade exhaust

Wow, that looks awesome. Are you going to use a fiberglass pack, or just run it with no deadening material? Do you have any more pictures of the middle section?

Soon to be new owner questions

If it helps you out, the cord you need is a pretty common USB connector ( I can't remember off the top of my head if it's 'Mini A' or 'Mini B' ), but it should be common to find at a radio shack or potentially even a gas station that sells phone charging cords. The software is available on the...

    R6 Cams

I sort of worked around the slight blipping delay by blipping a millisecond sooner. The internals of the motor can only be so light, and a blip of the throttle has to overcome inertia before it can rev. There isn't too much we can do about that, unfortunately.

What mirrors do YOU have on your motorcycle?

Thanks for the info, I'm almost finished with my naked conversion so I've got the handlebar mounting posts already. I bought a really cheap pair of ebay mirrors the first time around and I just know they aren't going to hold up very well. I grabbed a pair of mirrors from Amazon so I'll see how...

Where did you buy those from?

Dyno time for the FI FZ-6 S2?

Well said. It's much easier and more cost effective to simply buy a used R6 than it is to turn an FZ6 into a track/race bike. That said, there are definitely merits to tuning any bike. There is almost always power and torque to be eeked out of any given platform that comes from the factory. I...

    Hi from Chicago

Not uncommon, I've got a few friends in the same department as me who have at least decided on their major, but still have no idea what they want to specialize in or even do when they graduate. More and more I find myself in the minority because I know exactly what I want to do. Haha

    Regarding Idle Bounce

If you need to add fuel and don't want to start by spending $300 or so on a power commander, try adjusting the C0 and C1 settings on the bike. They control idle and low rpm fueling and might just help you out with getting rid of up the wub wubs.

First Ride Of The Year - My New Ride!

You're not the only one. I think I get about 150 mi on the FZ6 before I fill up again (I fill up once the gas light goes on). It's too much fun to crack the throttle that I never see a full tank used efficiently. Oh well. It's smiles per gallon not miles per gallon!

Fuel Grade (regular, mid-range or premium)

On a stock bike (or any vehicle for that matter), I think you're 100% correct. If you've got engine work done, increased compression ratio, advanced timing, any number of things, then you'll definitely notice. This doesn't apply to many people, however.

    Hi from Chicago

I haven't gotten out because I'm down at school. The weather is just teasing me right now. I come home on this Friday and should have all of my parts waiting to be put on the bike. I'm going to be out next week regardless of temperatures as long as the roads are dry.

    30k and beating strong

You've really got to love these bikes. With simple maintenance, they are almost bullet proof. The obvious exception is ChevyFazer . BlahBlahBlah

Anyone ever regret or have doubt in their FZ6 purchase?

I'll keep that advice in mind. I kept all of my stock parts in stock condition so I can go back if I ever want to (or sell the parts if I decide to stay). I don't think it will be too big of an issue since I went with a Buell conversion instead of the VS-01 kit. I should have an alright time...
