    Error Code 12?

Also check the battery voltage. Yamahas are pesky about electronics and a dead or dying battery could mean not enough juice to read all the sensors before start up. If the computer can't communicate with the sensor for what ever reason bad sensor or not enough power to get a reading the ECU...

    Error Code 12?

Error code 12 is the crankshaft position sensor Put the bike in gear and move it back and forth to try and get the piston to move that should get the sensor to realize there is movement and hopefully it will start. Try putting it in first and holding the clutch when you go to start it. If not...

    Odometer & Engine Wear

The only bikes 'I' have seen. Most of the bikes that come to me are for simple things, I'm willing to work on anything but engine internals. If I think it has something to do with cams, valves, timing, pistons, etc I forward the work to a friend that likes to do rip into engines.

Pure One Oil Filter Limited time offer $1

Im not a fan of the 00-08ish models that's when they started going down hill. All trucks kinda did but the chevy is starting to make a comeback especially with the HDs

    Odometer & Engine Wear

On the FZ? Running crappy oil and running the piss out of it. The valves were out of adjustment enough to cause premature wear. I assumed it was from all the crap built up in the valve cover area and around the springs. Had 26K I wanna say, somewhere around there. Don't know what kind of oil he...

    Amsoil Filters

What scare tactics have I used? seriously I would like to know to help myself out. I don't recommend "Amsoil or nothing" I recommend a quality oil and give many options, the merits and demerits of all of them, and let people make their own decision. If your talking about the filter. I...

    Odometer & Engine Wear

Yes I am aware of that, It is the milder cam timing that keeps the valve train in check somewhat. I've just seen alot less FZ6&1s need valve work compared to the R6&1. I do like the gearing on the FZ seems like a shorter 1st gear or maybe its in my head and I'm just out to have fun when on...

Pure One Oil Filter Limited time offer $1

Im not going to whore up someones helpful thread with you not knowing how to read. NOWHERE did I say anything was going to blow up if you didn't use Amsoil. And actually Amsoil didn't solve anything in that case it was an OEM filter we used, on a race bike, on a race track. So obviously its...

    Odometer & Engine Wear

Oil is the most important thing, as long as your using a good quality oil and change it regularly you shouldn't have to worry. I haven't had to change out a Camchain tensioner on a FZ before but when it goes out you'll know it. The one on my Suzuki track bike went out randomly one day and made a...

1st 300 Mile Road Trip Observations...

Nice roads out there and Coopers is some good eating. Ever venture out to park road 4? supposed to be good riding. You should definitely look into raising the suspension back up especially if your 6' 4" Don't know how mechanically inclined you are but if your not wanting to do the suspension...

BOOM: Ok guys, I needed to do the rear on the CBR and since I'm a cheap bastard I like to do tire changes myself. This rear took me all of 15 minutes to do not including balancing, which took an extra 5 minutes. DISMOUNT: To break the bead all one needs is a long piece of 2x4 and a...

Pure One Oil Filter Limited time offer $1

There is a possible issue of your bike blowing up using Amsoil oil and filter I'll admit that. The law of large numbers dictates that. However If it happens Amsoil will back up it's product and word. Purolator has already said it won't. If I could get Gold filters for $1 I'd be tempted to try...
