    High idle after TB Sync

An issue with having the idle too low is that if you throttle off too quickly, the engine can stall.

A favor plz. Need pic of 04-06 Exhaust Mount

Just as an observation: often people post about replacing the exhaust on the FZ6 or removing the catalytic converter, thinking it will improve their bike's performance. It won't! This sort of thing used to work on carburetted bikes, but the FZ6 has fuel injection, so you will increase the...

    Question Engine seals

I've had no problems with timing chain cover gaskets from https://www.ebay.co.uk/str/scooterworks For the cylinder head gasket, I'd probably look for OEM.

Any recommendation on how to clean exhaust pipes?

Autosol and a Dremel with polishing head. Note: Do NOT use Harpic 10x as many people suggest. Yes, it will get the pipes looking bright and shiny for a while, but it also damages the stainless steel and causes microscopic pitting which will leave them prone to rusting more in the future!

    Overheating, misfiring, bog down.

The fan should cut in at 100 degrees centigrade which is 4 bars on the gauge. First thing I'd try is to unplug the fan connector from the loom and feed 12V directly to it and see if it runs ok. If it does, you may have a faulty coolant temperature sensor.

    Information 06-07 Fz6 main frame?

On the S1 the coolant overflow reservoir is mounted between the downpipes and the engine just in front of the right foot peg. On the S2, it's up underneath the fuel tank, so unless they've kept the same bolt holes, that could be an issue if you get the wrong frame.

How long youve been riding fz6's S1 or S2's

I passed my motorcycle test in 2007 and bought my FZ6-SA then and I've never regretted it :)

    Marc’s FZ6

Good thread and some useful suggestions, I use an old broom handle to hold the damper rod in place to undo the bolt, but adding some old inner tube rubber to the end should help hold it in place better 👍 A couple of things: 1) A friend was working out in Qatar and got a puncture on his car, so...

    Slips ons with catless mid?

Do you have an S1 (2004-2006 with round clock) or S2 (2007- 2009) model? The S2 has an O2 sensor in the exhaust which is supposed to help the ECU modify the fuelling, but the S1 doesn't, so increasing the airflow through the engine will just make it run lean. You can remap the fuelling with a...

Question FZ6 Wont start after accident

Odd, I'm sure they used to have a feature that would let you do it. There are other VIN decoder websites out there, just watch out for the ones that want to charge you for a free service!

Question FZ6 Wont start after accident

If you put the VIN from the right hand side of the headstock into the Yamaha website it will tell you how the bike left the factory and you should be able to figure out if it has an immobiliser.

    Power cut in mid RPM

Have you checked the Throttle Position Sensor? Go into Diag model and check that it scrolls smoothly from 15-17 when fully closed to 97-100 when fully open.

    New member welcome thread..

Hi there, Technically I'm not "new" as I first signed up to these forums in 2019, but never actually posted anything before now 🤷‍♂️ Anyway, owner of a FZ6-SA 2006 which is currently in bits because I've been checking valve clearances (first time I've done this myself) which is a major PITA...
