04-09 FZ6 FORK OIL and seal replacement!

Awesome! I didn't even think to check it like this. Does appear to have seals for both forks in this kit. I'll order 1 and confirm that part #5VX-W003B-00-00 has seals for both when it comes in. Thanks.

Thanks. I assumed it was per fork, but wanted to double check before I ordered.

Does one fork seal kit include all the necessary seals for both forks?

Where to you guys draw your power

I have a 12v outlet hot wired to my battery. I did this to make plugging in the battery tender effortless. I have yet to forget about leaving something plugged in. I'm very consciousness about it, and even if I left my phone plugged in accidentally (or any accessory i use for that matter) I...

    Pod lights

Yes I did bd43. I wired the pod lights into the turn signals so they also operate as turn signals. And FinalImpact is correct, I also did the dual headlight mod, so if the engine were running both pod lights AND both headlights would be illuminated. Both headlights are on even on low beam due...

    30k and beating strong

I cleared 30,000 last year and it's still running strong with no mechanical issues as of yet. I did a valve adjustment last year and all of my exhaust valve were quite far off from spec. My results are here : http://www.600riders.com/forum/how-to-s-/53398-valve-clearance-adjustment.html...

    Adjusting idle speed

Yes. You can increase the idle speed without syncing your tb's. Even if you don't plan on syncing them now, you should do so one day! You'll notice a smoother bike!

04-09 FZ6 FORK OIL and seal replacement!

Awesome writeup! Thanks for taking the time to snap pictures and do a tutorial. Both of these jobs are on my agenda for this years maintenance. You couldn't have had better timing! Another thing that works great for removing the front wheel is a 1/2" rod coupling nut (19mm = .748 (outer...

    Need new tires

My last set were bt023's. Got about 15,000 miles out of them. I rode in all weather conditions and did quite a bit of touring with them. I rode them pretty aggressively at times, too, and always felt confident in them. I've got pr4's on now and they are awesome!! 10,000 miles and not a lot of...

    Handle bar question

Fz6r bars on mine. Do a forum search for what you're looking for and you'll get more information on the topic than you probably care to know. There is already an abundance of threads on this with great details.

Pirelli Angel Gt or Michelin PR4??

I've never ridden the angel gt's, but I can tell you I love the pr4's! They're my favorite tire I've ridden on so far. I've taken multiple long road trips and have ridden them in all weather conditions on every road type. About 10,000 miles on them and still a whole lot of tread. I expect to...

    Valve Clearance ADJUSTMENT

That is correct. Here's a picture from my notes when I did the job. Shows imperial and metric measurements. Mine sees redline a couple times a week, though not every ride. I can say I noticed a definite reduction in clatter after the job. The motor was also smoother and seemed more comfortable...

FinalImpact, awesome addition. Thanks for sharing your findings and suggestions. Great idea with the egg carton! I'll be copying that at 52,000.

    Valve Clearance ADJUSTMENT

Ooh thanks for the sticky! I remember when I went in with my shims I was told they don't do an even trade, but they ended up discounting traded shims like your shop said they'd do. Those prices sound similar to what I paid, too.
