    Eat... Your... Heart... Out... **pics*

Thanks for all the love!! We figured that we should do a couple fun photos for this. I couldn't think of a better ideal than posing with the bikes! Amanda REALLY loves her FZ6R too. With a lowering kit, it fits her like a glove. And just like my Fz6, its a smooth runner and super comfy for all...

Still have it? I could take a gamble and try this thing out.

    Front Axle Noise, Bearings?

DITTO!!! I also installed a PR3 and thought something was wrong until I realized it was just the tire with all that siping that hums.

    Thicker grips

Cramp-Buster is the word you're looking for.. I used one while traveling on freeways across the U.S. It was great for that, but was cumbersome when we got off the freeways.. and needed to modulate the throttle a little more. I installed Bike-Master heated grips this spring.. They're a bit...

    Mild Vibrations -Share your experiences...

Sounds about right... lol. FinalImpact has a threat about loose spark plug wire ends causing vibration. I'm sure he'll probably comment on this thread. Id replace the plugs, Yamaha calls for it at 8 or 10k miles anyway. The double ground strap plugs (CR9EK) tend to wear a gap a little faster...

    tire change

Yepp, Zip tie method for install works the best! I love it! For removing the tire the 1st bead is the more difficult one. The 2nd bead will actually slip off with out tire irons if you do it just right. And of course.. use LOTS of lube!

    Overcam engine at 14k rpm

Numbers that come to mind at 14,000 rpm: A valve opens and closes 116 .6 times per second. A crank revolves 233 times per second A piston accelerates from a dead stop and decelerates to a dead top, ( @ 2x per crank revolution).. or 466.6 times per second.

Maybe a possible, potential fz6 owner

Well sir, you have come to the right place. I'd say thats one of the most spot on definitions of the fz6 right there, lol. Anyway. I like to go on some trips here and there. Ive done two 3,600mi (5800km), trips over a span of 8 days. A couple saturdays ago my fiancee and I (she on her fz6r...

Uneven front and rear wear, cupping...

+1 My thoughts as well. I bike with a mis-aligned rear wheel will sit slightly canted going straight down the road. Other than that, I got about 10,000mi out of my rear PR3. I thought that was quite respectable. Yours probably have about the same mileage or close. Fairly new + 7,000mi probably...

    1986 fz 600 purgatory

HMMMM... Back in 2012, I came on this forum for help with my '86 FZ600, and I SWEAR TO GOD someone said the same thing to me... Maybe it was Mr. TownsendsFJR1300 himself. So anyway, I ended up buying a 2009 FZ6... Funny how that works. 25,000mi later, I still love the FZ6!!

    Cylinder Not Firing?

Why the CR9E but not the CR9EK? My better half has an FZ6R, which calls for the single strap CR9E, where as the Fz6's call for the double strap CR9EK. I always wondered why Yamaha made that change. or what the difference is. Also the 03-05 R6 calls for a CR10EK, but its pretty much the same...

new guy, new to me fz6

Heres how it goes for me.. "Ahh time for a nice weekend trip, I'll throw the plugs in, and de-stress from the week with a a nice relaxing quiet ride."... 50 miles later "I NEED TO MAKE NOISE!!!!!!!!!!" On a side note, maybe its time I hit my pipes with the polish wheel and some rouge...I'm like...

VS-2 Headlight adjusted and still off

Dont mean to :hijack: , but mine is a conversion from a faired bike. It there a way to change that so when the high beam comes on, the low beam isnt also on. Mine does that and I was wondering how long the bulb will last like that.

new guy, new to me fz6

Yes, The Arkapovic's have db killers.. I have a set that came with my pipes. They make the bike as quiet as stock or maybe even quieter!! I use them once in a while on long trips, but for the most part I just let it bark. The beauty of the Akrapovic pipes is the ability to throw the db killer in...

    1986 fz 600 purgatory

Haha, Dangerous seduction is right!!! As well as a spendy Seduction! Just to put it all in perspective, I paid $1900 for mine. I knew it was a bit much, but I've always wanted one. All said and done I probably had another $1000 invested into keeping it running. Then I ended up selling it for...
