Vid From a Recent Track Day (Infineon Raceway) - FZ6

So I did a track day this past Monday. First one since 2009 and I had a blast. I've done a ton of street riding since my last track day and am a much better/confident rider than I was then. I've never had so much fun at the track...no butterflies...just pure joy. So it was 33 F at the track...

    Difference in model years?

Congrats! I just saw your reply now....yes, same handle on teh BARF. I actually decided to sell my FZ6 yesterday as I just brought home a 950 Super Enduro R. PS - remove those ungly swing arm stickers. :)

POLL: Do you Cross the Double Yellow?

Looks like that was a sketchy place to pass. Gotta always assume some one will coming the other way and speeding.

Adventure bikes are for wimps! (FZ6 dirt and gravel thread)

Are you talking about the DL1000 or 650? My main riding buddy had a DL1000 for quite some time. The FZ6 will corner better on the street and pretty much do everything better than the strom except deliver low end vtwin grunt (especially the 1000), provide more highway comfort than you really...

I'm suffering from MBS (Multiple Bike Syndrome)

Not that is one bad a$$ bike. "All parts of the Aprilia RXV are of the very best quality available." SUMO version Not sure I'd want to use that as an adventure bike though.

I'm suffering from MBS (Multiple Bike Syndrome)

You're on the right track... Tank, hand guards, seat or at least a good pad, uncork it, water proof soft tank bag and saddle bags, perhaps a mini-windscreen...and hit the road.

    Valve Clearence checks....?

I would start with the the list of scheduled maintenance in the manual and go from there. Definitely: Check air filter, perhaps replace Clean injectors using a fuel treamtent (seafoam) Synch throttle bodies Change brake fluid front and rear (FOR SURE) and inspect condition of brake...

I'm suffering from MBS (Multiple Bike Syndrome)

meh, the suzukis are great bikes but don't offer the same smiles per gallon that the higher performing Euro bikes do....they are simply not as good and that is why they cost less. And FWIW, I've owned a DR650 adn have logged many miles in varried terrain on a DL1000. I lust after the 500 EXC...

I'm suffering from MBS (Multiple Bike Syndrome)

Yes but not a good long distance ADV bike due to maintenance requirements.

I'm suffering from MBS (Multiple Bike Syndrome)

Dude, I was thinking...when is OMG_WTF going to post in MY thread!!?!? haha So....first of all....DO IT!!! That bike will run circles around the BMW off road and will be no slouch on the pavement. I thought the 690 was going to be my next dual sport for quite some time. Recently I decided...

Thinking about selling and parting out Ohlins, Givi, rizome rearsets, R6 forks/brakes, etc., etc.

So I think I will likely go buy a 950 in Santa Cruz on Saturday so this might all be happening pretty fast. I will keep you all posted and when the time comes I will post full information (full specs and full disclosure) and high res pictures of all parts (possibly early next week). I also...

Thinking about selling and parting out Ohlins, Givi, rizome rearsets, R6 forks/brakes, etc., etc.

EDIT - everything except the pazzo brake/clutch levers has been sold (April 1, 2012) Yeah......been thinking long and hard about it and am thinking about selling both my bikes (FZ6 and KTM 640 Adv) and getting a Honda Civic. Ur....I mean, and getting a KTM 950 Super Enduro R, to be...

Do you wear a spine protector?

Yes - I use a dedicated back and also chest protector for both street and dirt. If I am just riding 6 miles to work then I throw on a textile jacket that has a good BP built in (no chest). Food for thought (not to be anal or self rightous), but I consider ATGATT to include a real BP (not...

Oil Fill Plug/Cap - what are my options

Just the cap with the o ring. The dipstick is seperate...and not broken.

Oil Fill Plug/Cap - what are my options

I might just go with one of the "chrome" coated AL caps from eBay for $16 shipped. same price as the OEM ones. All of the pre-drilled ones that look nice are $25 and up. Do you still have the blue one and want to sell it to me?

Oil Fill Plug/Cap - what are my options

So my oil fill cap cracked today and I'm doing a track day at Infineon Raceway next weekend so I need the part relatively soon. So there is OEM, I think there was a "billet aluminum" option out there for a while, Rizoma?, what else? Anyone have one they want to sell me? BTW, while I...
