    MPG's for other bikes?

I have seen what fuelly says, I am going on my personal experience with my 02 R1, which is what prompted the thread, I was hoping someone that rode easy or similar to me had a good mpg average on a FZ1.

    MPG's for other bikes?

the fz1 has the "same" 20 valve as my R1 did and it was amazing on gas in comparison on what most people have reported so it has to be in the computer and the tune. I am right about the same as cupcake, this summer I have gotten ~51mpg almost every tank for the last 4 months on the FZ6 (17t...

    MPG's for other bikes?

Has anyone had or seen a consistently good mpg on a liter bike? the FZ1 My R1 would match my FZ6 in mpg's (50-51) but everywhere I look it seems the FZ1 gets TERRIBLE gas mileage. I have seen a vfr get over 50mpg so does it come down to the rider?

Who else knows A LOT about cars?

The only way I get the putter out of it is with my foot on the floor. the ford coil issues are more known for the COP's from the 2v and 3v motors. the bricks are generally more reliable. I forgot to thank everyone for their inputs!!!

Who else knows A LOT about cars?

I did a fuel pressure test which is why I replaced the pump, it was sitting at 11psi with the key on, compression is surprisingly great, within 6psi across all 8cylinders. I tried carb cleaner and starter fluid, both yielded just a putter. Still will not so much as idle, and every time I try...

Who else knows A LOT about cars?

It isn't FZ related but I am down to pulling ideas from anywhere at this point. 1993 32v Ford 4.6 Ran normal then randomly cuts off in the middle of the street and is towed home. Checked all fuses and relays (of course) I have ohm'd out: Cam and Crank position sensor, both coil packs all...

High Altitude, can it screw up my engine?

The ecu should be able to compensate for the altitude (within reason). but Vegas has like 100k on it now.....so many miles for a bike.

Illinois considers new M/C license requirements

start with a helmet law, making a license tiered and having it take forever to get will just discourage people from riding all together. Here in good old murica' we can get a permit and a full license in 2 days if we want.

    Show me your chicken strips

I agree with Erci, putting a knee down on the street is kinda stupid. My 1/2 stips get me through the mountains just quick enough :P

First day with FZ6, have some ?'s

They do like rpms, you cannot lug it down at 3-4k rpms, like a big twin, that was my issue when I first got a I4, I was used to driving a V8, it has the grunt down low and you can lug it around and at like 6,000 rpms it is going to explode whereas the fz is barely in the usable power.

    Your Most Recent Repair?

2005 FZ6 39,738 miles owned since 2011 with 12,000 on it TPS sensor replaced under recall. recently my turn signals have been working intermittently , but that is because the resistors (aftermarket LED's all the way around) are going bad and just need replaced nbd.

Spray paint match for stock colors?

+1 I painted my hugger cobalt blue, I believe it is a GM color.... I went over it with a few mists of Royal Blue? and it darkened it up a tad for a slightly closer match. but the hugger paint will not last long, once mine flexed the paint cracked and started to peel off.
