I never listen to music or use my phone while riding. That's part of what I'm trying to avoid while on a ride. I ride to escape the usual distractions of everyday life and enjoy the interactiveness of riding....sights, smells, no distractions.

My 2006 FZ6 does exactly the same thing. It whines only in 4th gear. It has done it since the day I bought it. My conclusion after 56000 kms is that its normal. (That's after 4 different sets of tires and a couple sets of sprockets and chains).

Did you have to change brakelines or cables with the bar-risers installed? What are your bar -risers...1.5" up by 1.0" back?

I have HEL brakelines on my FZ6. They are excellent! One of the best mods I've done to my Bike.

A heat gun has always worked well for me. Heat up the sticker and slowly peel it off with your fingers. Keep applying heat while you peel off the stickers. I have a coocase top case and haven't really noticed any changes in the way my bike responds for the most part. The only 2 ways I notice any difference is that it does give me crappier gas mileage and (although not recommended) it does affect my top end speed a little. FWIW.
