That's because the FZ is ugly. (what? it is.) You should be able to grab a Nighthawk 750 on the cheap. That may be more on the lines of her aesthetic requirements. Those are great little bikes with a comfy riding position and enough engine to handle any road trip.

Service on a 2-valve Monster is easier than service on an FZ6. I own both, and I'd do the Duc's valves over the Yamaha's any day of the week. Now, 4-valve Ducs... that's another tale.

Congrats on the bike! Think of motorcycle boots as a helmet for your feet and ankles. They are extremely vulnerable in a crash. Work boots aren't the right tool for the job.

$400 more?? How much more? How's the driving record? How old are you? I pay less than $400/year for full coverage on my FZ6 and my Ducati Monster. Definitely shop around. Even if you can't get a lower rate.. peace of mind from knowing you aren't being hosed is worth a couple phone calls.
