Interesting story and choice on the FZ. It does have a more usable powerband but I feel like you'd of been happier on a twin or triple. Have you ridden an FZ before to see if you'd like it? I just don't want you to do all that work and then find that you don't like the FZ either

I'd gladly take an rc390 or ninja 300 right now, I love small bikes and just do 10ish over the speedlimiter typically so that fact that they don't do 150+ like my FZ doesn't really matter when they'll get better mileage and be more fun in anything else but straight line performance. Enjoy it...

Tell me about it... I spent $4100 on mine and it had 4400mi on it when I got it, I don't know why I didn't haggle. The guy even asked why I didn't haggle and I asked him "can I now?" and he said "too late" lol. Lesson learned, plus I didn't know what they were going for

Yeah my tires have no dry rot or anything either, they held up VERY well to the elements but I know the age has hardened the rubber which means less grip overall. I just haven't pushed it at all, that won't happen until its first new tires get on.

+1, don't become my protege and end up still running the OEM tires like I do!

Yep! (jk, I scored a pair of Dunlop Q2's for $150 a couple weeks back and they'll go on this season!)

JEEEEEEEEEEEEEZUS! That looks so fun, a sure adrenaline pumper for sure! I bet I'd probably backflip the bike and slide all the way down (probably taking out 1 or 2 other racers on my path)

Maybe check the suspect/related wires for continuity? Maybe their wire's severed in the insulation?
