If you're idea of fun is going slow on a street bike on a rutted dirt road, great. But on a big bore dual sport your could absolutely thrash that road. Going to far off places for a campsite or just for adventure is one thing, but claiming that the bike is at all capable or that riding an FZ6...

They are an amazing value. You can get a low mileage 2008+ for around $6,500 and maintenance is not bad at all. Hope everyone is doing great.

Bought a pair of held phantoms 6 years ago for $200 shipped. Finally replaced them a couple weeks ago as they are yellowed and have holes in two of the fingers (finger print area). You can bump start the FZ6 even when the battery is too flat to do anything at all, including light the clock, dash, pump, etc...dead

They hold (durability wise)...no doubt...I'd try to get the 08 for under 4 though.

You rode with STT I presume? I doubt they would allow you to ride with a centerstand in the top two groups regardless of what you told them about it not dragging. I only ever dragged my CS on the street, IIRC. I removed it for TDs. Dragged my sidestand on the track before removing it for all...

I will do this some day on a dirt bike. I would definitely say you should do it on a dirt bike/ sumo or something very similar, not a sportbike. Half of the fun of ICE (from what i've been told) is the extreme lean angles you can get...you can lean a DB much more than a fat and short...
