Tell you what Sith, I will be ordering new ASVs for my new Street Triple in a week or so. If you can wait, I'd be happy to order them with whichever colour adjuster you're after, then will swap them with the red ones as I'm happy with them.
Let me know what you think, could be a win-win for us.
Actually tossing up between black or white. They've canned the matt paint for 2011, so it's red, black or white.
Black is on top of the list, but waiting to see if Aus version gets gold or black (better) wheels, and white or god-awful fluro mustard tank logo. Both seem to exist! And if so...
It's probably very close. If you go by power figures I guess the stock ST3 is about 10hp up on my modded FZ6. But it's more the power delivery that grabs me with the engine. It hits hard lower in the rev range.
I'll be sacrificing comfort though, that's for sure. Parts prices will probably...
Karen, yes it's a sad day. 12 months, 18,500kms, loved every second of it.
I've got a unique opportunity to own one of the new Street Triple Rs, and decided to give it a run. I've run quite a few Triumph rides and demo days, and it's hard to fault the Speed and Streets. I need a tad more...

Power Commander 3 USB $280 SOLD
Speedo Healer v4 with FZ6 harness $80 SOLD

I found that with the price of the FZ6, I was happy to sink around $2k in mods to create a beast. The FZ8 was sluggish compared to my expectations, although I'm sure as with the 6, it would benefit immensely with $2k thrown into pipe/commander etc.
But as we've all said, the price isn't great...
I swear there were some loose metallic items in that muffler. It sounded like something really tinny. It's absolute crap. But with that intake noise, adding a pipe will be sweet action.
It's a very 'bolt-on' looking bike hey. Far less slick and integrated than the 6 I reckon.
PS come to Sydney...
Amazingly, the clutch is lighter than the 6, and has a wider friction point. Having gotten used to the narrow 6 clutch, I far prefer it to the 8. But the 8 is mega light. I don't know how they do it.
The gearbox is near identical to ours, so yes it's clunky.
Throttle response is smoothed...
Finally dried up today and just back from a 40km run. A full review in the next day or so but first impressions - great.
Feels lighter than the FZ1 once going. Also more upright. Air intake (little ram air vent) really makes it sound rough (good rough). Around the city streets, feels really...
Some initial thoughts after inspecting and sitting on it, wheeling it around the floor - The gold forks are a darker shade than the gold wheels on the white version. Urgh. It really jumps out at you.
Secondly, the thing feels like the FZ1 to sit on. As expected. But my point here is that being...
Hehe, yes it is. Put it on the list, the factory comes with $4800 worth of freebies :)
Get yourself to Sydney and we'll go for an extended test ride!
On that note, if there is some Sydney interest I'm thinking about organising a day ride with the FZ8 where we can rotate it amongst a few of...
