Try getting the north star in your shots and let it ride for 15 min. You will get some cool stuff. especially when it is low in the sky and you can get some scenery in there as well.
I think it is a cool idea in that you have a Cam that has become a power take off just like the main crank. It is taking a portion of the main engine assembly that is normally a power drain and turning it into a producer. I think this design is actually more efficient than a standard valve train.
Just thought you may be interested in this. I did a front end job on an SV 650 and used the Race Tech Springs and Cartridge Emulators. The Emulators were a huge improvement over stock and they are adjustable. I Plan on putting a set in my FZ.
Yup. I shot those at 23sec, ISO 200, f 13. I was huddled behind a shortened Tripod in the back of My ford Edge with the hatch up on the top of a hill in the middle of a storm cell.
I took about 50 shots and ended up with 5 or 6 keepers.

Wow. There are some really nice shots in this thread. Here are some of my favorites. I shoot on a Nikon D90. I use a 18-105 autofocus and a whole arsenal of 1974-1996-ish Nikkor lenses that I borrow from a friend that is a pro photographer.
