Buy it if its been dropped?

I purchased a wrecked bike recently. Yes there is tank damage and some of the covers are scratched up. But, it is a 2006 with 3000 miles on it. So after doing a headlight kit, I have like 1500 bucks in a bike that will last me thousands of miles. I say go for it.

how fast u going at 5000 rpm 6th gear

This is a very valid argument. It is still kind of hard to beleive that a company would build in a percent error in such a vital system. However, this will make people slow down for fear of a ticket.

    Dropped my gauge cluster

So, I had an issue with mine in the past. (wiring) I purchased one off of some one here on the forum, and didn't end of needing it. So if you would want to go that route pm me. The other thing that I had considered as a cheap alternative was a trail tech Vapor. This is an enduro computer that is...

how fast u going at 5000 rpm 6th gear

Thank you I have been debating on starting a Thread for this. It always seems that I am going through a tank quicker than I should. So I thought that with the speedo off the Odo would be also. Are you sure about this? I think that may mean that I need to slow down on my riding...:BLAA:

    Headers and burnt mud

My resolution for this with my dirt bike is always to use a pressure washer. It seems to take all of the burnt mud off of my header pipe really easily, but this is a dirt bike. Be extremely careful if you plan to take a pressure washer to the FZ. Happy Trails.

    Bike will not start

Thanks for the replies guys. It is not the kickstand switch. However I have not ruled out the neutral saftey switch just yet. As for now, I have to take some time away from it... The motor blew up in my truck... Bad WEEK!!!

    Bike will not start

She will bump start, so the issue is not the ECU or fuel pump. It has to be somewhere in the actual starting electrical system. IE fuseable link or sensor. All of the atual fuses look good and the relay appears to work. Maybe one of the sensors is not giving it the appropriate feed back for it...

    Bike will not start

I have checked most of the connections and they all seem to be fine. This doesn't seem like it would be the issue seeing as there isn't much corrosion at all and the bike worked just a week ago. But as for the fusible link, this is what I was looking for. I do have power to the wire that gives...

    Bike will not start

Thanks for the bump start idea. I took a little hustle, but she started. So that rules out the entire ECU, but not the starter section. As for the battery, that is not the issue. I disconnected the terminals and hooked them up to the truck. We are back to it being an actual electrical...

I was scammed, cheated, ripped off.....

HA HA, She is an old Norton now. In order to diagnose we really need some pictures. Epoxy is not the way to go anyway. JB weld will work if the hole is small, but don't consider this a permanent fix. The issue with JB and the cast aluminum is that they are completely different material. This...

    Bike will not start

I did think about that with the battery, so I tried jumping it. The issue was that my cables where to big for the connections. I very well may try that again after giving the battery a full charge, because this just happened sporatically. As for pop starting it. Will these bikes pop start...

Oh geezzz. My buddy and I both have YZ250's that we run in the woods. He has one on his and swears by it for hill climbs and very technical riding. As for the street.... NO! You have to run relativley fresh clutch plates. (Expensive) And you would have do change your oil hella often. (due to the...
