I agree with this, i have one because i liked the idea of a reusable serviceable filter, an the amount of cleaner i have will outlast the fizzer, but will not buy a new one for the next bike
so a bike that old if it has never had maintenance, i would do the fluids, brake lines possibly have some moisture, the cooling system because why not it is easy to do, and of course the oil and filter
so do you thing the gear indicator is just a coincidence?
Have you tried adding revs from the throttle body and not the grip, disconnect the cables so the grip doesn't move. the video sounds like a cut off switch and with that all being in the same piece it is an easy thing to isolate
This is a great response, my last car got to a stage where a new set of tyres were worth more than the car and then it w as a hard call until it stared to misfire at which stage you really have to go repair little niggles or make a big investment in a replacement.
Many Fizzers will be getting to...
not as clean but an airhawk seat makes a world of difference, also it makes you that much higher that helps your legs (well atleast mine) on longer rides
welcome, some of the bikes including mine a getting older, reg/recs do have a lifespan to them, and hopefully this is your issue as its a quick easy fix
so you do lose that power if you go to an MT07, but the power in the MT is much lower in the rev range. you basically have full torque in the mt at 4000 rpm, the fz6 is not until around 10,000 rpm. and the fz6 doesnt actually have a lot more torque, just top end HP. and i think up until 8000 rpm...
It was the starter relay.
To help someone else. The issue is you could hear a click from the starter relay but the starter motor wouldn't crank. This happened intermittently
Battery was fine.
The starting safety relay had some light corrosion, but the easy way to eliminate this as an issue is...
This is on the next bit of time, it was rebuilt about year and a half ago so it was not my first concern and the issue took more than a year to poke its head up since then, but it's worth a check.
thanks for the continuing input
So I just played a bit more. I'm fairly certain it's not the interrupt-cutoff relay, as if I try to stay it in gear with the stand down there is no click from the starter relay, but if it's in neutral, or in gear with the stand up and clutch in you can hear the click.
So I put a multimeter on...
